What the club says: Built on two levels, the course offers wide and lush fairways on the upper section - with mature oak trees and attractive lakes dissecting the 11th and 12th fairways on the level below. One of the finest holes in the west country, the spectacular 170 yard, par-3 seventh has been described as the most picturesque in the county. It plunges from an elevated tee to a large green 100 feet below. Every hole presents a new and different challenge and with four alternative length courses, it is suitable for every standard of golfer, from the novice to the very low handicapper.

One word. "Versatile"
I played this course 20 years ago. The layout is terrific. I was amazed how the place has matured. It was unloved for a long time, and it looks as if the new owners are getting to grips with it.
They only took over in April, and it looks like the hard work is paying off.
Bunkers are out of play atm. I didn't go in any, so that doesn't matter.
Every hole has a different challenge.
This course has amazing potential.
After 7 weeks of blistering sunshine, the greens are holding up, and I can't fault them.
Staff and members were very friendly, and the clubhouse is lovely..all in all, a nice day out in the beautiful Wiltshire countryside.

Nice course
I've seen some pretty negative reviews so was a little apprehensive about visit. Yes the course could do with some additional tlc to make it better but it is still a great course. The positives are a great layout with a range of different terrain to challenge. It's reasonably priced and not overcrowded. The views are special.
On the downside the bunkers are unmaintained and it was fairly boggy in some of the lower lying areas (although we had had plenty of rain so this may be no different to other courses).
The greens were fine, not great but nowhere near as bad as some of the reviews I read.
Overall an interesting and challenging course with great view
s. I'll definitely be returning.

Sooo frustrating. This course is one of the best designed and golfing challenges in the area. Sadly, the greens are awful, bunkers unkempt, fairways absent of visible distance markers. I paid for twilight round at 20quid. Just about worth it. I'm not sure I understand the owners, as this course is a potential gem. Recommended with caveats of don't pay more than I didReviewer Rating

Vastly improved golf course
Played today, course has come on greatly over the past few months. The bunkers are being worked on with the hope they will be back in play over the coming weeks. The greens were true and with the recent rain and frequent irrigation are holding the ball well. Fairways are generous and well kept the first cut of rough varies in depth. Altogether a challenging course.Reviewer Rating

Improving course
Played the course today. Informed that deep tyning of the greens was being carried out. This can only improve the greens and will be well worth it. The green fee was reduced because of the work and greatly appreciated. Friendly staff in the bar with a menu that gave a good choice of food. Look forward to returning in a month or so when the greens will have had time to settle.Reviewer Rating

Nice Course
Lovely layout with some interesting holes and great views. 7th is a gem. greens were soft and ball picking up mud on must fairways after a few days of rain. Enjoyable round(Round played: Aug 2019 - Score: 97 Handicap: )
