Not bad for a round with the kids
Went during the summer recently, I have seen many worse and although I have yet to play this course when the weather gets wetter during Winter, it seems reasonably maintained. The fairways were well kept and generally the green OK'ish. There were some bare patched but we have had a dry summer. There are bunkers with wet sand even on a dry day; no rakes.
If you are after no frills and a couple of hours with the kids in the fresh air with no pressure then you will not be disappointed.
There are pay to use toilets (council) by the shop/cafe (costs 20p) and the shop hires out free of charge balls and clubs/tees. It serves a nice ranges of snacks and hot/cold drinks and icecreams.
Lady very friendly and welcoming and I do intend to go back at the weekend.
Are there better courses in the area for the money? possibly but is it worth going to Monkton if you are a complete beginner or young kids want to play golf? then yes

Good for a quick round
I play this course a lot for a quick round but I do find it a little depressing. The bunkers are practically mud, the greens often full of mud and poorly maintained. I think the addition of foot golf has been a bit of a killer for it. Still has some nice holes which is good practise for the short gameReviewer Rating
