What the club says: Bury St Edmunds Golf Club was founded in 1924 with an original design by the first British Ryder Cup captain Ted Ray. The course is set in 150 gently rolling acres of established parkland, with most holes flanked by magnificent mature woodland. The par 72, 18 hole course plays 6,676 yards off the white tees, making it one of the longest in the county, but the walking is easy enough. The nine-hole pay-and-play course is renowned for its outstanding year-round condition (no handicap certificate is required), it is less mature than the main course but no less attractive and is a perfect starting point for beginners.

It is a very good small golf course with everything being amazing and in great condition sadly the pay of play is either slow or perfect

Delightful 9 hole course

Our first outing to a proper course as previously we've played at Old Joes. And we were delighted. A very nice club house, good condition fairways and very good condition greens offering bowling green standards.

Albeit a short course with no par 5,s it is still a good test and can only improve ones short game. The 6th is probably the signature hole being 440 yard par 4

testing 9 hole

Course overall is in good condition although as is the time of year there are a number of leafs about. Tee boxes in good condition and the greens are of average pace and true. For what the club charges this is a good course and can help improve anybody's short game. Signature hole is the par 4 440 yard 6

Very enjoyable

Went to play with a friend on the 9-hole. Good tough 9, plenty of variance in length and difficulty. Good speed and well laid out.

Little Gem

9 hole course open to non members, green fee available in advance for either 9 or 18 holes.Present a challenge even for low handicap golfers. Attached to the members only 18 hole but you can use bar and toilets plus eat if you want. Handily placed just 3 minutes off A14

Lovely

Really enjoyed my game at BSE.
The course layout was great fun - back 9 is definitely tougher with a challenging finish.

The course is tree lined but quite forgiving in places. The real defense is the length and greens - which by the way were fantastic to putt on.

Really enjoyable and players of all abilities should go and have a game here.
