What the club says: Boothferry Golf Club is one of the most enjoyable meadowland courses in East Yorkshire, popular with many visiting golfers. This established course in a tranquil setting within the Vale of York is a pleasing test featuring natural dykes that occasionally provide additional challenges on a number of holes!
Beware the ‘spectacle’ bunkers on the seventh, miss club here and you may have serious problems! The par 3 fifth, a delightful example of Steel’s majesty when it comes to course design, is played over a pond which was originally constructed to hold water ballast for the R100 airship built on this site.

Too wet
Sadly I have to say that the course today was too wet to play - let me make it clear this is not the fault of the green keepers who , like there colleagues across the country, are having a dreadful time at the moment. However the course should not have been open , losing balls in the middle of the fairway is a sign it’s simply too wetI am not from the area and the lack of warning before I went out was disappointing, I know it was my choice to walk off , and whilst the staff were polite and courteous there was no attempt to offer me a refund of any kind.
I would avoid the course for a few weeks at least - and pray for a long dry spell before considering

A real let-down
A long, flat, boring course with little in the way of features. Greens were sadly neglected, uneven with lots of bare patches. Went on a society deal with food afterwards included and had the worst meal we've ever had, a real 'can't be bothered' offering. Won't return in a hurry.Reviewer Rating

Good for value @£10-15
Good course to play in dry weather, gets a little boggie when wet, worth £10-15 you can get on golf now. Anymore and not top of the list to playReviewer Rating

peaceful round
greens had just been sanded/seeded so it was a very testing putting surface but otherwise a nice flat course(Round played: Sep 2021 - Score: 108 Handicap: 29.1)

Disappointing
I've played this course a few times over the years and at one time, it was a regular 'go to.' I don't write reviews, but the condition of the course deserved one. Its almost like the greenkeepers were on strike. Most greens had large areas of bare ground, the bunkers were devoid of any sand, many were overgrown and full of lengthy grass/weeds. Fairways were almost indistinguishable from the rough.I must however state that we only paid ?11 per head, but despite this, it will be a long, long time before I consider returning.
