Stats Prove That AimPoint Critics Are Wrong

If you are in the golf space, and have not been living under a rock recently, you would have seen or heard about the public spat between Lucas Glover and AimPoint

The former US Open champion claimed in an interview that: "Statistically, (AimPoint) hasn’t helped anybody make more putts since its inception on the PGA Tour." Glover continued: "Statistics have borne that out. It’s also kind of rude to be up near the hole, stomping around figuring out where the break is in your feet. It needs to be banned. It takes forever."

Reacting to the second part of that statement, the guys behind the AimPoint green reading system fired back immediately, pointing out that no professional or amateur golfer who has been through the AimPoint Express class with a certified instructor is taught to take a read anywhere near the hole.

With regards to time, a read of a 6ft putt should take no longer than five seconds and 20ft ten seconds, when the golfer has followed the process properly, as is taught during the course.

What Do The Stats Say?

Responding to Glover's claim that AimPoint hasn't helped anyone to make more putts on tour, the guys behind AimPoint have shared some fascinating stats to prove this statement wrong.

Let's take a look at ten golfers who have taken to the green reading system on the PGA Tour and DP World Tour.

AimPoint Stats

You can see notable improvements both financially and with regard to their Strokes Gained Putting stats. This is replicated by these other leading golfers.

AimPoint Stats

These golfers have earned just under an additional $10,000,000 on tour, at an average of just under $1,000,000 per player in the 12 months since they started to use AimPoint Express - to some, it could mean the difference between keeping and losing their card.

The people at AimPoint are also keen to express (pun intended) that with so many golfers now arriving on tour already using the system, these numbers could potentially be a lot higher, but as a counter argument to Glover's claims, they have used players that had already been on tour and then switched to AimPoint Express.

If you want to make similar improvements (albeit without the extra millions earned) or are curious about the AimPoint system and want to fully understand more, there are videos available here https://makeeverything.aimpointgolf.com/.
