Under Armour AW16 Winter Collection

The arrival of winter means only one thing in the UK: cold, frost-bitten mornings, blustery winds and torrential rain. However, the new AW16 range from Under Armour will help keep you warmer and drier for longer if you find yourself playing in the harsh winter conditions.

The UA AW16 range features a tiered “Storm” system of water and wind protection that keeps you dry in any wet weather situation. Each item of clothing is part of one of three Storm categories. These are UA Storm1, UA Storm2 and UA Storm3. UA Storm1 offers water resistance, UA Storm2 is highly water-resistant and windproof and UA Storm3 is waterproof and windproof.

Additionally within the rainwear Gore-Tex technology is featured and guaranteed to keep you dry. This is because Gore-Tex is made of the toughest fabrics and has been thoroughly tested to guarantee performance, even after serious wear and tear.

The ColdGear Infrared lining uses a soft, thermo-conductive coating to absorb and retain body heat for lasting warmth. To add, Coldgear is the layer athlete’s trust when the temperatures plummet as it eliminates the need to wear heavy, bulky gear in cold weather.

Highlights of the range include:

UA Storm1

Included in the Storm1 category is the CGI Insulated Jacket. The UA Storm technology repels water without sacrificing breathability. The 100g PrimaLoft insulation is lightweight, water-resistant, breathable and can be compressed without losing warmth. This jacket also features the ColdGear Infrared technology by using a soft, thermo-conductive inner coating to absorb and retain body heat.  Prices for this jacket start at £100.

Another key item in this category is the Match Play CGI Taper Pant. As well as the UA Storm1 technology in the pant, there is also the ColdGear Infrared technology to help retain your own body heat. Other features include soft, stretchy woven fabric for total comfort, a Moisture Transport System that wicks swear and dries fast and a stretch-engineered waistband for superior mobility and extreme comfort.  The Match Play CGI Taper Pant will retail at £70.

The UA Storm Sweaterfleece QZ also falls under the Storm1 category and repels water without sacrificing breathability. This is a lightweight heathered fleece with a soft, warm, brushed inner layer, ribbed collar, cuffs and hem, perfect for the winter months. The UA Storm Sweaterfleece QZ will retail at £55.

Another notable item in this category is the CGI Insulated Vest.

UA Storm2

In the UA Storm2 category you will find the Elements ½ Zip Update. The Storm2 technology repels water without sacrificing breathability, as well as windproof materials and construction to shield you from the elements. The ½ zip also features ColdGear Infrared technology to help absorb and retain your own body heat. The Elements ½ Zip Update will retail at £75.

UA Storm3

The Storm3 Jacket and Storm3 Rain Pant both features technology that repels water without sacrificing breathability, 100% waterproof with fully taped seams and a 20k/20k Waterproof Rating. Both items also feature a 2-layer bonded fabric that disperses moisture quickly to dry incredibly fast. These technologies make the items both waterproof and windproof. The Storm3 Jacket will retail at £110 and the Storm3 Rain Pant will retail at £85.

ColdGear Baselayer

The UA ColdGear Armour Mock falls under this category and offers compression through a dual-layer fabric, which features an ultra-warm, brushed interior and a slick, fast-drying exterior. The 4-way stretch fabrication allows greater mobility in any direction and the Moisture Transport System wicks sweat and dries fast. The ColdGear Armour Mock will also feature anti-odour technology, which prevents the growth of odour causing microbes. This baselayer will retail at £45.

Other notable items in this category are the UA ColdGear Golf Mock, the UA ColdGear Armour Crew and the UA ColdGear Armour Legging.

GORE-TEX Paclite FZ

The Paclite KZ features UA Storm technology which repels water without sacrificing breathability and is made to be both water and wind proof for maximum benefit.  The jacket is made from 2.5 layer bonded fabric which ensures a durable & smooth finish.

Additionally the jacket benefits from gusseted shoulders to allow greater movement during a golf swing, adjustable hem & cuffs and a handy internal chest media pocket.  The full zip jacket will retail at £240 with the 1/2 zip at £225.

Half sleeve, Storm 3 Jackets and Trousers are also available in the rain wear range.
