Feature Test - COBRA Driver with Arccos Driver Performance Tracking
COBRA Golf recently partnered up with Arccos Golf to offer an exciting new promotion for golfers. Those who purchase any COBRA Golf KING Driver will receive a complimentary Arccos Driver performance tracking and live competition system worth £60.00. So how will it benefit your game and what exactly is Arccos Driver performance tracking? Josh Carr recently headed to the course to find out.
What is Arccos Driver?
The device is a small plug that fits onto the end of your driver grip and delivers real-time data for tee shot distances, fairways hit and more to allow golfers to gain a deeper insight to their driving performance with the KING drivers. Accuracy and driving stats, personalised challenges, live leaderboards, advanced GPS, social bragging and precise shot detection are just some of the other available features.
The Arccos Driver is really easy to use as you simply attach the sensor to the end of your driver’s grip and sync it to your iPhone or Android device, select start a new round and swing away. The device automatically picks up when you have hit a drive and where your drive has ended by utilising GPS technology and best of all, you don’t even need to take your phone out of your pocket.
The app records your biggest drive, the range between your longest and shortest hits, shot dispersion and a Smart Distance that throws out the anomalies to let you know your average drive length. The Smart Range feature tells you how far you hit the ball on average when you catch it right out of the screws. A smaller range is generally indicative of a more consistent driving performance.
What drivers are available?
You can take advantage of this fantastic offer if you purchase a COBRA golf KING Driver. This includes the KING F6, KING F6+, KING F6+ Pro, KING LTD Driver and KING LTD Pro. This family of drivers were created to bring the highest level of personalised distance by utilising the best performance technologies to help golfers play better.
Through innovative research, premium materials and COBRA’s unique performance enhancing technologies, personalised distance and adjustable centre of gravity is available in each of these drivers.

The Test
After testing the product at Ulverston Golf Club it was clear to see that Arccos had produced an extremely handy piece of tech that all standards of golfer can enjoy. First of all, the device was really simple to set up as you just screw the sensor into the top of your grip. As the sensor is extremely lightweight, it does not affect the weight of your club.
The driver used was the COBRA KING F6+ Pro and thanks to the stats provided by the Arccos Driver app, it offered the opportunity to adjust the central weight to find the perfect ball flight.
First of all you must download the Arccos Driver app and set up an account but that only takes a few moments, after that you’re ready to go. Right from the first tee shot it was clear to see that the GPS tracking system was working, but more importantly giving an accurate refection on where the golf ball had ended. On the rare occasion where the device misread a drive when waiting for playing partners to play, it was easy to edit where the ball had ended by simply dragging the golf ball icon to where the blue dot (which represents yourself) is on the map in the app.
My Arccos driver stats
Another helpful feature of the app is that it gives you distances to the front, centre and back of the green for your approach shots. There is also no need to try and figure out how far you have hit a drive in your head as the app instantly tells you how far your drive has gone on that hole.
It was also impressive how the app figured out when you had reached the next tee without any manual input. The device uses a mix of GPS systems and the sensor in your club to track when you have hit your driver and when you have arrived at the next tee. Obviously, we don’t often hit the ball straight every time and occasionally have to hit a provisional ball, which is why Arccos has made it possible to add a shot on the app to make sure it tracks your driving performance accurately.
After the round, my stats were instantly brought up on the screen and offered insights into my Smart Distance –Arccos estimation of the expected driving distance on a well struck drive – my Smart Range, the longest drive hit and fairway dispersion. The device took just a few seconds to collaborate the data and display it in a clearly understandable graphic. Under the rounds section of the app, you can also find out your driving handicap and like golf, the lower your handicap the better.
Final Verdict
This is the perfect product for those who love the analytical side of the game as they can accurately track their driving stats and find out where needs improving. When you add it to the incredible range of drivers in the COBRA Golf KING range, it really is a deal to not miss. You get both an outstanding driver and a great piece of technology that when combined can help you improve your driving and lower your scores.
