What the club says: West Linton is a conservation village situated 13-miles and 20-minutes south of Edinburgh on the A702. The Club was formed in 1890 by the local schoolmaster Robert Millar, whose vision and energy created the original nine hole course. In 1926, renowned course architect James Braid provided advice on the improvement of the course and many of his ideas were put into place in succeeding years. However, it was not until 1972, when additional land became available, that the course was extended to 18 holes. It is now recognised as one of the finest courses in the area and is part of the James Braid Golf Trail.

Great course in fantastic condition
Played this course a few times and it has always been a nice course, however this time it was in the best condition i have seen. Fairways and greens are great. Food was also really tasty too.Reviewer Rating

A testing course
A lovely and testing course, very pretty, lots of trees and long rough to avoid. Some up and downs and blind shots make for a thought provoking game. Lovely old clubhouse, very welcoming, nice food. Pity the very wet conditions didn't do the course its full justice.(Round played: Sep 2019 - Score: 100 Handicap: 16.4)

a lovely day out
West Linton Golf Club is well worth a visit. We played 18 holes in early May and given the weather we have had this winter, the greens were in super condition as was the whole of the course. The setting is beautiful with lots of birdsong and outstanding views of the countryside. After the golf, the clubhouse is of the highest order, and the meal we enjoyed was made all the more excellent by the considerate manner with which we were served by the catering team. I would have no hesitation in recommending this club for any size of party or larger outing.Reviewer Rating

What happened?
Not what it used to be, unfortunately. Looks like a council course now. Whoever is in charge needs to take a look at themselves. Shameful...Reviewer Rating

Perfect Condition Golf Course
8 of us traveled from Powfoot in DUMFRIES & Galloway for the TEXAS scramble comp on Saturday 24th of June with a great format on the par 3s .After just an hour travel we arrived at what has to be described as a hidden gem very friendly welcome superb food a proper club house very spacious and like new .
The golf course from the practice facilities apart from hitting your own balls on the range area are everything you need putting green and all greens superb and true and quite fast .
All bunkers raked perfectly with fairways mown perfect no divots and semi rough no problems finding your ball .
Course has got to be 9/10 and a superb challenge with some long holes into the wind and great par 3s .
A must stop if you are passing and we will be back to try again
THANKYOU ????????????

Cold morning, winter rules but the course was in great condition. Some greens frosty and treated, but the course overall was really good and enjoyable to play.
Great facilities in and around the club. Worth a visit.
