What the club says: Why not make your golfing experience even better by choosing a course
that's as grand and soaring as you feel when you play? The
Staffordshire Golf Club's wooded parkland course offers some of the
most picturesque holes in the UK, with tree-lined fairways, fast
undulating greens and a huge dog leg amongst 60-foot tall firs.
Lose yourself in our avenues of pines, firs and rhododendrons. You'll
think for a moment that you're in the middle of Scotland! Our course
features a driving range and practice area where you can hit a few
balls around before committing to 18 holes, and our restaurant and bar
area is ready to serve you when you're finished. Come visit us today
and see why we are home to one of the most successful golf teams in
the west midlands.
We have recently changed the name of the club from Swindon Golf Club
to The Staffordshire Golf Club. Still the same great course - just a new name !

Lovely woody course due to close
Such a shame this is closing. The new owners also own the course at Perton and have decide that this one is to close. Terrible news especially as this course is so much better than Perton!Reviewer Rating

Beautiful, interesting & challenging course
What a lovely picturesque course this is. Played the first 9 many times as back 9 was out of action for a bit. Now revisiting and reminded of how challenging the back 9 can be. Great course and reasonable prices.(Round played: Oct 2021 - Score: 115 Handicap: 27.6)

2 different courses!
Such a frustrating round.Found via Tee Off Times and wish I’d avoided. The course starts on a very tight, very very short front 9. The front 9 was in poor condition. Fairways patchy with giant (and dangerous with trolley) burrows in the middle. Greens not receptive and too firm to hold, with a bad bobbly roll so we have up putting and picked up.
Ready to walk off the course but glad pursued with back 9. Not a bad hole from the 10th onwards. The back 9 longer and softer with much better greens… resumed putting. Stand out was par 5 14th.
Would go back but only to play back 9 twice!

Unreasonable greens
The course is extremely punitive if you miss the right line. Even when you land on the fairways, there are loads of divots or just holes which make it a bit irritating. The greens are pretty fast and a major challenge. The ground staff seem to relish putting the holes in illegal positions, making it even more frustrating. The course drives me mad, but I am determined to shoot a good round there. Playing off 13, I usually shoot high 80s.Reviewer Rating

Cool course
Threatened to play with golf pals for ages, wish we’d gone sooner. Not a long track but tight fairways and good greens. Really enjoyed the round(Round played: Oct 2020 - Score: 80 Handicap: 10.2)

Hilly start but fab course overall
Well kept course with some wide open fairways. The front 9 are very hilly so be prepared for a leg workout. The back 9 are more level with only the odd slight incline to go up. At time of my visit the clubhouse was completely closed due to CV-19 regulations, so can't comment on the facility. Will play again soon.Reviewer Rating

Covid relaxation round
Two ball during the lockdown relaxation period. A fairly blustery day with winds up around 20mph but with most holes tree lined it didn't impact the round too much. Fairways were in decent condition, as were the greens although they were a touch long in places meaning they weren't too quick and were a little inconsistent. Understandable though if like many places some staff have been furloughed. Disappointing to see some players sharing buggies and not adhering to social distancing (could have been from the same households but 40+ year old blokes mean it's unlikely) and this seemingly went unchallenged by staff as it was witnessed on the 10th next to the club house. Course as always is tight in places and undulations put an even greater emphasis on picking the right line. Enjoyable visit, will be heading back at some point.Reviewer Rating
