What the club says: Sitwell Park Golf Club is set in picturesque countryside only two and a half miles from Rotherham and seven miles from Sheffield. The course was designed in 1913 by Dr. Alister McKenzie who some years later went on to assist in course design of the famous Augusta National home of the US Masters. Once on this delightful course one could be many miles from the nearby industries, which are completely obscured by the rolling terrain.

Played yesterday. The course was in great condition. Very hilly and challenging course. The greens are in good condition very fast and some really difficult pin positions. 3 right on the edge of the green but on a slope so unless perfect just runs off. Enjoyed the round. Club house is great and the balcony that over looks the course is beautiful to enjoy a well earn beer afterwards. Staff very friendly. All in a great course.

Tough course

Played in strong winds and rain so conditions were tough already, but the course itself is also very challenging. A couple of really long par 4 holes, some short risk reward holes too. Fairways were good, the greens were lightning quick and in my opinion didn't run true and were inconsistent. Theres a nice putting area but no other practice areas. The pro shop was well laid out with friendly staff. This is also a very hilly course so beware if carrying as it can really take it out if you. Overall this is a tough course which will be a challenge for any level of player in my opinion.

Nice course lay out with some challenging elevation changes. The course was very wet on some holes.
Biggest issue I had was I got stuck behind a 5 ball for 6 holes before they let me through and then a four ball that wouldn't let me through even though there was plenty of opportunities. Ended up waiting for 10-15 minutes to hit shots.

Great course even in winter !

Mid-January visit, 17 greens in play, proper tees and a great welcome from the pro and the clubhouse team. We would certainly return again without question. Course in great condition and greens as good as they could be in the weather. If only more courses were as welcoming to 12 paying and playing golf enthusiasts. Thank you Sitwell for a lovely day out.
