What the club says: The Golf Club was formed in 1903 and there are few clubs in the UK that can claim such a glorious location and magnificent Club House. Surrounded by beautiful timbered parkland the course is easily accessible from the M1 or A1 in South Yorkshire.

Lovely course, friendly members
We played this course on a glorious day in September 2023 and it looks amazing from the impressive, imposing clubhouse. We enjoyed a chat with the pro and a coffee overlooking the course before playing on a county card rate of 35 pounds. The course was in superb condition, lovely tee boxes and attention to detail on the fairways, aprons and edges. We played at 11am as a two ball and soon caught up some elderly members who immediately let us through and chatted to us about the visit. Such a nice atmosphere around the place. The holes are laid out well, challenging but not punitive and nicely thought through cuts off the fairway. The greens were super fast and immaculate meaning staying on some greens was a difficult challenge. Reaching the back nine you get the added bonus of white sand bunkers which make that part of the course look amazing. At 35 quid I would go back often, even at 55 quid for the full price I think its a great experience and it does feel special. Nothing bad to say other than a halfway house would have been great in the 30 degree heat but you cannot have it all. Definitely worth a visit in summer, you will not be disappointed.Reviewer Rating

Great course
We had a society day at Rotherham and all really enjoyed the course. The fairways, greens and tee boxes were in good condition. Rough was challenging, as expected. 1 hole crossed another and 2 holes drove across the roadReviewer Rating

Great Course n good day
Played the course for the second time as an invited guest. Fairways bunkers and greens in good condition and beautiful setting. Commented the the greens were running well, to be told by the members that they were slow compared to normal. Home of Danny Willet and great course.(Round played: Jun 2021 - Score: 96 Handicap: 19.4)

My Captain`s Away Day yesterday was a storming success due to the hospitality of the staff and this lovely, challenging golf course. Not a `walk in the park` when you`re in the rough, and the greens made a fool of even the (1) scratch golfer that came with us, but most of us, though a bit jaded yesterday, will be playing it again very soon. Can`t rate the food & drink because of the virus, we took our own for a `picnic`, a compromise rather than not eating there at all. They opened the bar for us, once again compromising because Monday is their staff day off. A really great Yorkshire welcome.Reviewer Rating

Fantastic course
The professional n is assistant where very friendly n nothing was to much trouble the course is brilliant fairways where good the ruff was thick n a night mere to get out off the greens the greens they r brilliant fast n true if u want a proper course go n play u will not be disappointed(Round played: Jun 2020 - Score: 85 Handicap: 9.1)

Top course

Better condition than most golf courses summer best through winter and incredible condition during the summer.
Fairways like a carpet, greens fast, true and consistent.
Not the longest course on the scorecard however plenty of challenges and difficult if your in the rough.
Also the most friendliest pro in Yorkshire.

Been a member here for over 2 years now and i cant praise it enough, greens are in fantastic condition and the fairways are very good.
some holes where you need to plot your away around not just a smash and grab.
