What the club says: Prestwick St. Nicholas Golf Club, established in 1851, is right at the heart of a wonderful golfing area in Ayrshire. With a sense of history and tradition, and commanding beautiful views across the Firth of Clyde to the Isle of Arran in the West and Ailsa Craig in the South, golfing at St. Nicholas is an experience not to be missed.
The course is a challenging and tight traditional links of 5,952 yards in length with a Par of 69. Due to its proximity to the shoreline, an almost ever-present wind ensures that the course provides a good test of golfing ability. The shorter hitter of the ball however will not suffer, as few of the holes require long carries from the tee to reach the fairways.

Tough course, pricey but it's a Links
Found it tough going for a higher handicapper. Service in shop was 100% however to me this is not £85 course but I guess as a "foreign" visitor from england and it is a Links that's about the going rate for this std. Its ok worth a go but not for meReviewer Rating

True Links
This is a true links test in the breezy conditions that I experienced. The fairways are narrow and undulating and the greens ran true and fast. The course was in great condition and the views of Arran were fantastic. Club selection had to be carefully thought out, especially when playing towards the sea. I thoroughly enjoyed my round here, and the hospitality afterwards was first class.Reviewer Rating

The course however held up very well despite the torrential rain. I would certainly like to play it again and would recommend it. Furthermore the lady serving in the clubhouse that day went the extra mile to provide sandwiches and coffee which was much appreciated despite the clubhouse undergoing some refurbishment that day. Well worth a visit

Lovely course, tricky in a few places and a few blind tee shots. Need to play when there is not a 25 MPH wind.
