What the club says: Royal Troon (Old): One of the great links courses in Scotland, the Old Course at Royal Troon has hosted the Open Championship on nine occasions. A gentle opening few holes and a relatively straightforward closing stretch are the bookends for a series of holes which weave up, round and through some of the most striking linksland. Accurate shot making is essential.
Royal Troon (Portland): Originally designed by Willie Fernie, winner of the Open Championship in 1883, the Portland Course was opened in 1895 and subsequently redesigned by Dr Alister MacKenzie in the early 1920s. Although a little shorter than its illustrious neighbour, the beautifully manicured Portland Course provides a true links challenge.
Royal Troon (Craigend): The Craigend Course consists of nine par 3 holes and the small greens present a series of tricky targets. The course is utilised mainly by Junior Players and a few elderly Members. It provides a perfect setting for relaxed family golf.

Fantastic ,,,great layout and great condition club house an experience in. Its self.Conditions were very windy so visited some of the fairway and green side bunkers an experience not to be missed. Bit hazardous to the score still not to worry a most enjoyable experience.

Fantastic Course
This course is really beautiful. I played it on a sunny autumn afternoon with only light breezes. The green complexes are well laid out and the condition of the fairway turf and greens is excellent. Most holes are reachable for mid / high handicappers, and this adds to the enjoyment of your round.
Care has to be taken, as the railway runs adjacent to some holes, and there is a fair amount of gorse around some approaches. The views all around are fantastic, and I played well despite encountering trouble in 2 bunkers. I looked over to Royal Troon, but couldn't help thinking that I was on the right course for me. I hope to play this course again soon.
