What the club says: Muir-of-Ord Golf Club is one of the oldest golf clubs in the north of Scotland. A heathland course with tight fairways and tricky greens requiring a deal of accuracy.

James Braid originally set out the course as a 9 hole course. This was extended to 14 and then to 18. Holes 5,6,7,8,12,13,14 and 15 are James Braid's design over the years have changed very little.

Bargain Muir of Ord

Muir of Ord, what a venue, often overlooked, “it can’t be good, it’s too cheap”
What a mistake to make.
A very good layout, some tricky holes, a great mix. My only comment would be, there are some long walks, if you are not fit, take a buggy.
This Club should not be passed over by anyone. A good challenge, friendly staff, overall a great team.

Fine example of James Braid course. Great condition, some very tricky greens with tight approach. Some lovely vantage points from top of course enhanced the whole experience.

What a gem!

Beautifully kept course which is well worth a visit. A great contrast of holes across the course, which suited a low handicapper (male) as well as a higher handicapper (lady). Loved it. Met some very friendly guys who play regularly here. The whole atmosphere is great, from the pro shop to the bar. Just wish this course was closer to Sussex!!

Between the Rail Lines!

A fantastic heathland layout influenced by James Braid which I was lucky enough to play in summer sunny conditions. Excellent course conditions, friendly staff and a wonderful place to play golf in Northern Scotland. More at www.linksfairways.com

Excellent course.

Fairways and greens were in tip top condition. There were not many people playing but those I met were very helpful as were the staff in the shop. Well worth a visit.

Arrived before the pro shop opened on the off chance we could have a game.
A member came to greet us and after checking with the club secretary advised us we could just go on and pay after.
The course itself has some very tight fairways and a couple of spectacular holes.
A few had weird yardages particularly the 5th, a 154 yard par 3.
It looks far shorter than that and was reachable with a gentle 9 iron.
Unless i've turned into tiger woods there is something amis.
The 10th and 13th are both par 3's with long drops down to the holes. Both of which are great fun to play.
All in all a great day out on a very nice little course.
