Lovely course spoilt by dangerous tiny wooded tee mats
Lovely course spoilt by dangerous tiny wooded tee mats is the only description I can afford. The course is a good test in lovely surroundings, the hotel is excellent, the staff really friendly and the catering is top notch. The price is ridiculously low, worth returning but those tee mats are simply not playable. Unlike you the player I would tell the greens staff to get a grip and change them quickly. Because of that fact alone I will make the visit down more than I should have.Reviewer Rating

Hotel course
The course forms part of the hotel, Bowls and golf complex. Course layout is good although when we visited the greens were dressed with sand and seed which did not make the greens very good but the work has to be done sometime it would have been nice to have been told about itReviewer Rating

Having been to this venue a number of times in the past, the package offered including accommodation is very good. However over the last 2 or 3 years holes 11 12 in particular have been spoilt. A ditch on 11 is a problem for short hitters, while stroke index 3 hole 12 is now number 1 and has had a number of additions a continuation of the ditch from 11, another ditch and the filling in of the narrow entrance to the green. This has made an already difficult hole extremely difficult except for long hitters and low handicap golfers and were unnecessary additions. The cost of the buggies for a round is extortionate at ?35, a little better for the day at ?50 but that is for those staying in the hotel, those turning up as a day guest pay more while members pay less. The accommodation is tired and needs a facelift.
Food is good with a choice although lunches could include just a sandwich rather than including chips.
Drink is not a bad privce but the wines are very expensive.
Overall the course in good condition taking around 4 hours for a 4 ball to go round.

Worth a visit
Picturesque course where the greens were very tough due to previous weather conditions and lack of rolling and cutting.Bunkers well kept and fairways open and well maintained.
Super staff- so helpful.

Lovely course spoilt by condition of greens
A lovely course spoilt by the unkept condition of the greens. Great value for money venue, nice challenging short course with plenty of hazards. The fairways and tees were ok but the greens were pretty poor and not cared for. Staff blamed the recent weather but looked like more. Wouldn't stop a return visit but you need to understand your putts don't run true. The accommodation was adequate, the bar prices a little steep but the friendliness of the staff and the quality of the catering were excellent.Reviewer Rating
