What the club says: The course was created in 1975 by Sir Henry Cotton and Robert Sandow. The par 73, 18-hole course plays 6,443 yards off the back tees and makes superb use of the mature oak woodlands on which it was built. Strategically placed water hazards and bunkers along with tree lined fairways makes accuracy a premium and the course rewarding for all standards of play. Situated a stones throw from Effingham Junction railway on the main line from London Waterloo, and a short drive from the A3/M25 junction, the club is easily accessible and the perfect escape from the bustle of the city.

Took a small group of 12 players to the Drift for a day out. Every aspect of the day was fantastic, from the warm welcome received, the catering, the amazing facilities, a quality course in great condition to the incredibly knowledgeable and helpful pro shop staff.

Hard to lose balls
Nice course. Not always super long. Tree lined but often spits your ball back onto the fairway, and not so much rough where you don't find your balls. Greens run well and fast. Course was in good shape. Nice place. Good practice facilities. A course you can score well on.Reviewer Rating

TBIS Society
Recently visited The Drift with the TBIS society with 24 players and the feedback we got from the group was how impressed they all were with not only the course but the hospitality we received. From start to finish The drift looked after us with a good breakfast, range balls, and even the half way house welcome from the gentleman inside that when above and beyond to make sure we all had a great day. The course was immaculate and beautiful at the same time, and will only get better once the work is completed on the 9th hole. The TBIS would highly recommend The Drift, and Im sure we will be back very soon.

On the negative side found the organisation a little odd i.e Our package included some food and practice balls which you had to take in that order which is a little strange. I would be wary of the bar prices e.g £5.10 for a pint of lime and soda !!!???

Mid Summer in Good Nick
I played the monday after their club championships at the beginnig of July. Having played here in the Autumn it was a totally different experience. Firm greens and fairways. The course was looking at its best with good conditions around the greens and pretty aprons. The greens ran true and it was a real test. One thing to watch out for, you get a bucket of range balls with the green fee but the range opens at 1pm on a Monday. Worth a Summer visit but not so great when it gets wet.Reviewer Rating

Nice club, boggy conditions
The dry February has done nothing to help the sodden ground. Plenty of GUR and the conditions were really wet and muddy. Questionable whether course should be openReviewer Rating

The Drift
As ever the weather played a significant part in the day. Dry, warm and slight breeze. The course like many is suffering from lack of water but not the greens. A straightforward course and reasonably flat but with some challenges. Fantastic facilities for parking, practice and club house.Reviewer Rating
