What the club says: The course was designed by Neil Coles and Brian Hugget and opened for play in 1976. Whilst it is not a long course by modern standards, the combination of tree lined fairways and the succession of water holes makes it a particularly challenging course. Playing to your handicap is a real achievement at Silvermere.

Good challenge

A good course and tougher challenge in the winter as quite long and not much carry.
Greens in very good nick.
Temporary geens a bit of a pain but can't be helped.

The course was absolutely perfect in every way. From the well-maintained fairways to the challenging but fair greens, every detail was thoughtfully designed to provide an exceptional golfing experience. The layout was both scenic and strategically interesting, keeping me engaged throughout the entire round. The staff was friendly and helpful, adding to the overall positive atmosphere. I was thoroughly impressed and very satisfied with the experience. It’s a course I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a top-notch day of golf. I can't wait to return!

Fairways are Unacceptable

Nice facilities and you can see how nice the course would be in good weather, but the fairways were unacceptable. Yes, we’ve had rain but the fairways resembled a rugby pitch in January. I would go back, but only in summer. Very disappointing.

The last two holes are beautiful.

A course where you have to find the fairways so best to keep your driver in the bag unless you really need it

Hadn't played here in ages. Enjoyable round with both greens and course overall in good condition. TIght in places so accuracy is key. Well looked after on our society day. Excellent chicken burger post round. Practice and general facilities are excellent.

I've played silvermere many time and it never disappoints. The pro shop, the 19th hole, the course the facilities all deliver in spades. Great place, I urge you go along.

Greens were under maintenance so not good at all but only charged half price on green fee.
Would be worth coming back later in year when greens are better

Silvermere golf club

I anticipated a long difficult course but was pleasantly surprised, it was very pleasant and beautiful and not as difficult as I thought. The fairways were lined with trees and it has its fair share of water the only objects I kept finding were the bunkers, lots of them to keep you focused. The last two holes I would say are the best I have played anywhere. 100% great course along with great customer service. If you are hiring a buggy you will need your driving licence as you cross a main road to the next 9. Have fun

This golf course offers a standard playing experience with well-maintained greens and fairways. It's a good option for casual golfers looking for a straightforward round without too many challenges.

As a Society member who had not played this course before, I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the fairways and greens considering the weather in recent months, holes which weren't too challenging for a first timer without local knowledge and excellent facilities including changing area, pro shop, driving range and clubhouse. Looking forward to a return!

We have previously played Silvermere in the winter when the course has been soggy, but have they made some improvements. Considering the rain we have had recently, the course was in very good condition. You can see where they have put in drainage and it has made a big difference.

Challengin pay and play with good greens and bunkers

Silvermere is a very popular pay and play which means that weekend rounds can be slow. But play midweek, as I did, and you can whizz round. This a challenging course: very tight off the tee with well placed water hazards around the back nine and finishing with the intimidating 17th and 18th which both play across a lake. Greens were in very good condition and the bunkers had just the right amount of sand to play good shots out of. The fairways were a bit patchy and very fiery but that is a consequence of the recent hot and dry weather. If you hit the ball straight you will score well here. Fail to find the fairways and shots will go quickly.
