What the club says: Chapel golf is an 18 hole course, measuring 6434 yards, representing an interesting and enjoyable challenge, played in some of the most beautiful countryside you will find anywhere.
As you approach through the foothills of the Pennines you could be excused for thinking that you are in for a mountainous round of golf. Nothing could be further from the truth. You will soon discover that the course, nestling in the Valley between Whaley Bridge and Chapel en le Frith, is built on gentle rolling parkland surrounded by magnificent scenery.

The greens are deceptive and need time to read them all in all a good experience

Really muddy!
Layout is good but today the course was really unplayable and they shouldn’t have let us on the course. You could see your footprints on the green and lost balls plugged in fairways. Will play again but only in summer and the green fee is £30

1st time and hopefully not last
Great course. A few long walks between holes but plenty of variety. Greens good, Tees good and only bunkers (no sand) let the course down. Hope to visit again on next visit to Derbyshire Dales.Reviewer Rating

Nice Course
A nice course, fairly flat, but some great views up into the surrounding hills. In great condition for January, the greens were excellent & playing full greens on all but the 15th hole
The 1st to the 7th are nice holes, quite tree lined so you need to be on the fairway
You then have to cross the road, 8, 9 & 10 are nice holes, but the course comes alive from the 11th to the 16th.
There are some lovely holes built around a meandering brook & the side of a lake, with some challenging drives & interesting green placements.
You cross back over the road to play the 17th & 18th.
All in all a nice course, well worth the money & with a friendly welcome in the pro shop

A gem and should be on your list if local
This course had some of the most immaculate fairways we have played, the greens were also really good on the holes over the road, but just ok on the holes around the clubhouse. Overall this is a lovely course and one to visit. There are quite a few blind holes, which I really like, but some may not especially if they like blasting balls at everything. We found the holes were quite easy in relation to their Stroke Indexes, but overall what a lovely course with some beautiful outlooks and well formed holes which need thought. If you are in the area put this on your list and enjoy it.Reviewer Rating

Well maintained. Lovely course
After a pronged period of dry weather the course is running fast so quite likely if you land your ball at the top of the slope you may find it at the bottom! A few dry cracks appearing.Greens are fast and you'll find your ball probably won't stick on the slope. Handy if like me you go 3 feet past the home and it rolls back in!
Just s shame there are a couple of holes that cross.

Well worth playing
First time that I had played here. Fairways are undulating and were in excellent condition. The greens are tricky and due to the lack of recent rain they were very pacey on the day that I played. There are several dog-leg holes making ball placement of prime importance and a couple of greens are fronted by water making club selection an imperative. You do have to pass over two roads out and in during your round but that wasn't a major problem. I really liked the variety of design in the various holes, the course is never boring.(Round played: Jun 2018 - Score: 97 Handicap: 17
