What the club says: Founded in 1889, the Westwood course is arguably the oldest in Yorkshire. It boasts an enviable mix of golfing landscape - parkland, heathland and links - taking advantage of the ups and downs of the rolling fairways and magnificent views of the market town of Beverley and its spectacular Minster.

Great course!
First time playing the course. Arrived early and chatted to a few of the members about where first tee and practice facilities were. Very friendly and helpful. Course is great. Different challenge playing on the Westwood amongst the animals and walkers. Fairways and greens were in great condition. Definitely want to go back and play and would highly recommend!Reviewer Rating

nice course
Looked forward to playing here for many years. Got off to nice start when a member let me use locker toilets and pro very polite also. Set off playing between 2 4 balls. Suggested by I group that I skip holes 3-5 as quite a few groups in front of them. I did so drove just short of green on 6. When I arrived at green another group there ( unseen ). They quoted etiquette to me and handed me my ball. They did however allow me through which was kind However the double standards on etiquette then occurred when a ball whistled past within 10 yards of my head with NO shout of FORE.(Round played: Jul 2019 - Score: 84 Handicap: 14.7)

Nothing like that in East Yorkshire
Hilly and Tricky to get round in parts but adds to its charm. Cows grazing next to the holes and sometimes on the fairway. Again this gives it another nice little edge. The greens are superbReviewer Rating

Extremely challenging golf course
Played here today and I have to say it's one of my favourites. The condition of the course was excellent considering the really poor weather we've been having, the fairways and the greens were in great condition. The slight downside for me was the severity of the rough so hard to get out of it, a few of my drives were only just off the fairway eg 1-2 feet and I found the ball unplayable. The clubhouse facilities are first class and has a very comfortable lounge and dining room areas. Also the staff I found so nice and friendly and helpful, I would have no hesitation in going back soon for another great day!Reviewer Rating

Solid test of golf
Beverley is well worth a visit. Friendly clubhouse and the course is testing with a range of different holes. Doglegs, tee shots over trees, testing par 3s of which there are five. The only downside is the course is on common land and dog walkers can sometimes drift onto the fairways. All the greens are protected by wire fences and care must be taken when climbing over, we will play the course again.(Round played: Feb 2018 - Score: 97 Handicap: 21.8)

Tough Course.
A very tough course for the average golfer purely down to the rough. Once you're in, you're in- so if you're a player who can play every single shot down the middle you might put a score in, however if you're not in the 3% who can do that, this course is extremely challenging! Also make sure you're fitness is half decent as its a very hilly course with some longish walks to the next hole.
Overall a good course, well set out and taken care of, but yeah- very challenging for the average player.
