Golfshake Does Longest Golf Day Challenge
Golfshake staff writer Adam Smith is taking part in the Macmillan Longest Day Golf Challenge this Friday 19th July at The Nottinghamshire Golf and Country Club.
In 2012, over 500 teams took part in the challenge and raised more than £560,000 for the charity.
Former Golfshake editor Adam is teaming up with 'Team Wolfpack' friends Patrick Giffney and James Povey playing 4 rounds in a day in their quest to raise money to support people affected by cancer.
With 2 fantastic courses The Nottinghamshire is the perfect venue for a 72 hole challenge which will see 'Team Wolfpack' tee off at 5.05am on the Masters course. They will then tackle the Open course before lunch then repeating the process in the afternoon, finishing before darkness falls and the forecast heat gets the better of them!
The team have been supported by friends, family and work colleagues from around the World and they hit their donation target within five days of registering. There is still time to donate and any donation would go a long way in supporting this worthwhile cause.
Thanks to SmartCaddy the team will not have the added pressure of carrying their bags all the way around. SmartCaddy have donated their super lightweight SC201E for use on the day.
To follow the progress of the team during their challenge follow @theadamjsmith on twitter and look out for his regular updates. They will also be making a video documentary throughout the day from the crack of dawn to sunset which will be edited and uploaded onto the golfshake YouTube channel at a later date.
