Former Challenge Tour player Simon Vale has won his first TP Tour event at the classic Little Aston Golf Club in the Midlands.
Vale was triumphant over a high class field which included four former winners of the British Amateur Championship, and also several former European Tour winners and ex Ryder Cup player TP ambassador Ronan Rafferty.
In exceptionally windy conditions, gusting over 40 mph Vale prevailed with only one bogey on his card and three birdies.
Vale, from
Whittington Heath, has been away from tour golf action for a couple of years - says he really enjoys what the TP Tour presents
‘the ideal tournament environment, playing at Britain’s best courses, and the best possible training ground for aspiring players.’’
Surrey’s James Sheffield again finished well in second place on 1 under par, with Louis Boston and Alps tour player Jack Clarke finishing third on level par.
