Legends Tour Announces 2025 Schedule & Record Prize Pool

By: Golfshake Editor | Tue 22 Oct 2024

The Legends Tour has announced the initial list of tournaments to take place in 2025, which includes two new events, an increased prize poll of €20 million and unique opportunity for amateur golfer participation.

The 2025 global schedule will kick off with the 2025 Legends Tour Qualifying School, taking place at Gloria Hotel and Resorts in Belek, Turkey from the 13th to the 20th of January. In addition to this, 16 more tournaments have been confirmed in places like Barbados, Vietnam, Zambia, Greece, Ireland, France, Italy, Mexico, and India.

New tournaments include the Marbella Legends at Aloha Golf Club, in Spain and the NI Legends Open to be played at Galgorm, Ballymena, with more additions to be announced later this year.

The new additions will compliment existing flagship events on the Legends Tour calendar which includes the Staysure PGA Seniors Championship, held at Trump International Golf Links in Aberdeen for the third consecutive year, and the OFX Irish Legends, hosted at Mount Juliet Estate's championship course - host of five Irish Opens and two World Golf Championships.

In addition to the championship trophies, some of golf’s biggest names will also be vying for the biggest prize pool in Legends Tour's history. The total amount of €20 million (more than €10million of which will be assigned outside of the Majors of senior men’s golf – the Senior PGA Championship, the US Senior Open and The Senior Open) marks a 16% rise in prize money compared to the previous year.

Alongside the tour events, amateur golfers are able to join in the action with the The Legends Experience offering passionate amateurs the opportunity to play alongside their heroes in a one-of-a-kind pro-am experience. Participants will have a taste of the life of a professional golfer, competing in tournament conditions in front of crowds and TV cameras. They will also have access to exclusive amenities, such as the players' lounge and locker room, as well as the chance to receive coaching clinics from Legends and practice on the players' range. Additionally, participants will be treated to first-classe hospitality and will have the chance to attend VIP functions, including evenings hosted by Ryder Cup Legends. This unique experience is now available at 11 tournaments worldwide.

Legends Tour 2025 Schedule

Phil Harrison, CEO of the Legends Tour, said: “Over the summer we have been working hard and 2025 promises to be another incredible year for the Legends Tour.

“Securing new events in some truly spectacular venues around the world is always a key objective of ours, and we are thrilled with the additions to the schedule for this season, as well as the prestigious venues we are honoured to return to.

“Everything from the standard of competition to the number of amateurs getting involved has been growing year on year, and 2025 will be no exception. This is the earliest we’ve been able to announce next year’s schedule due to the new approach to multi-year tournament contracting. Further additions to the schedule will be announced later this year and we cannot wait to see it all unfold.”
