TaylorMade Hi-Toe 4 Wedges Review

By: Golfshake Editor | Fri 18 Oct 2024

TaylorMade's new Hi-Toe 4 Wedges were created from the foundations of previous generations and have been engineered to offer you greater confidence and enhanced control with your short game.

But do they deliver on that promise? Golfshake's Equipment Expert, Ryan Rastall, has tested and reviewed them for us, pitting these wedges against the prior model during an extensive examination conducted indoors on Trackman and outside on the golf course at Howley Hall Golf Club in Leeds.

You can see what Ryan thought by watching below or directly on YouTube.

TaylorMade Hi-Toe 4 Wedges - Key Tech

TaylorMade Hi Toe Wedges

These wedges have a larger profile than the Hi-Toe 3, which should offer golfers more confidence, with full-face grooves in the 54°, 56°, 58°, and 60° lofts enabling the use of the entire face and adding greater control. Hi-Toe 4 wedges also boast an elevated Centre of Gravity, which encourages lower launch conditions and maximum spin.

Spin Tread technology is featured in the Hi-Toe wedge line for the first time. This provides increased friction and spin but also displaces moisture in wet conditions.

The new wedges also showcase a raw face finish, which reduces glare and makes them look distinctive.

TaylorMade Hi-Toe 4 Wedges - Grinds

Presented in a variety of All-Terrain grinds, golfers of all abilities and preferences should find a Hi-Toe 4 wedge to suit them.

All Terrain Standard Grind (ATS) is the most versatile of the grinds, being ideal for those players who value a neutral face, making them ideal to be used in all conditions by all swing types. The ATS grind is available across the spectrum of lofts ranging from 50° to 60°.

All Terrain Versatility Grind (ATV) is best suited for those golfers with shallow angles of attack or that play off tight, firm turf, as you will be able to take advantage of this grind's asymmetric bounce and concave sole. The ATV grind comes in lofts of 56°, 58° and 60°.

Finally, All Terrain C Grind (ATC) introduces its reverse C-sole design, which makes it the lowest bounce option. The ATC grind is available in both 58° and 60° lofts.

How to Buy TaylorMade Hi-Toe 4 Wedges

The new wedges are available to purchase from all good retailers and shops, including Scottsdale Golf and American Golf, where you can select the loft and bounce that you require.
