Tour Edge Releases New Drivers, Woods, Hybrids, Irons

By: Golfshake Editor | Tue 01 Oct 2024

Joining the 10K MOI revolution in golf and manufacturing their most forgiving clubs yet, Tour Edge has unveiled its Exotics 725 Series of drivers, woods, hybrids and irons.

Developed throughout the past 18 months, prototypes have been deployed on the PGA Tour Champions during that time, which has led to a significant degree of feedback to ensure that they deliver the best possible performance.

Their new Exotics 725 Drivers are the most forgiving family of drivers the company has produced with the 10K MOI E725 and C725 low-spin design.

The higher the MOI, the greater the resistance to twisting on off-centre hits. When the club twists, energy is lost. Reducing twisting helps with both accuracy and ball speed retention on off-centre hits.

In 2006, with the advent of square drivers, the USGA implemented an MOI limit of 5,900 g-cm2. The 5,900 g-cm2 only applies to the MOIy, which defines heel-toe forgiveness. The ‘new’ measurement includes the MOIx, which defines up-down forgiveness.

That leads to the formula of MOIY + MOIX = MOI10K, or HEEL-TOE FORGIVENESS + UP-DOWN FORGIVENESS = RESISTANCE TO TWISTING AND FULL-FACE FORGIVENESS.

The E725 driver boasts a combined total MOI greater than the 10,000 g-cm² (10K) threshold, the result of strategic placement of mass in the clubhead and the effects of the 360° Ridgeback technology utilised in the design.

The C725 driver takes an emphasis on flight tuned performance and player-preferred shaping, while still boasting an extremely high MOI rating just under 1,000 g-cm² under the 10K mark.

"We’re getting into the 10K inertia market with a true performer in the E725 driver," said Tour Edge founder, CEO and chief designer David Glod. "You can’t place a value on a clubhead that provides extremely straight drives from anywhere on the face as it simply and efficiently creates lower scores for every golfer. Both the E and C heads are astoundingly forgiving."

"Forgiveness has been something we’ve been excelling at in Exotics, at the very top of our industry, but this is an entirely new level," said Glod. "With 725, we are offering two specs that fit exactly what a certain player type is seeking for their performance off the tee. It is definitively game-changing how the 725 drivers perform."

The all-new designs from the Tour Edge engineers include a revamped Flight Tuning System with fixed weight ports for greater ease of use, 3D Diamond Face advancements with three-dimensional diamond shapes behind the face for greater ball speeds, plus 360° Ridgeback Technology for superior forgiveness and feel.

More carbon fiber is utilised in the 725 designs and has replaced the Ridgeback spine for a brand-new look with sleek designs that offer Tour Edge’s cleanest looking Exotics to date.

For the first time ever, the 725 Series was introduced to the PGA Tour as prototypes to help the design team get as much feedback as possible for the final 725 designs.

The prototypes were introduced to the PGA Tour Champions in early 2024 and took off with extremely fast player adoption, becoming the company’s most played drivers on the 2024 Tour, accounting for over 60% of their drivers in play.

"It was invaluable for us to get prototypes of the 725 to the tour almost a full year ahead of the launch," said Glod. "We were able to listen to the players feedback in real-time along with the creation of the final designs. The Champions Tour is the perfect proving ground to evaluate this new innovation and make certain that we have everything perfect in the designs for the end consumer."

"The players have loved the protos, including many non-endorsed players," said Glod. "To be able to go out and prove that beyond a shadow of a doubt before launch has been incredible for us as we celebrate 20 years of Exotics in 2025 with this launch."

Tour Edge Exotics 725 Fairway Metals & Hybrids

Tour Edge Fairway Woods

Tour Edge's new Exotics 725 Fairway Metals and Hybrids consist of the C725 fairway and hybrid (Competition Spec) and the E725 fairway and hybrid (Extreme Spec).

The new E725 metals are MOI+ designs built for maximum forgiveness, while the new C725 designs are all about harnessing power and flight tuned performance.

All four metals include new designs that feature 3D Diamond Face advancements with three-dimensional diamond shapes behind the face for greater ball speeds, plus 360° Ridgeback Technology for superior forgiveness and feel. They all also utilise RyzerSole technology and a new Power Channel in each design.

The C designs from the Tour Edge engineers include a revamped Flight Tuning System with fixed weight ports for greater ease of use.

David Glod and company will be celebrating 20 years of Exotics in 2025. They launched the first Exotics clubs in 2005 with the Exotics CB Series, leading to no-pay tour play from some of the biggest names in golf, and propelling Tour Edge into the ultra-premium market.

"We’ve always been known as a fairway wood and hybrid company due to the unheard-of performance we started producing in 2005 with our first Exotics, and I truly feel like Exotics metals are back in a big way with these releases for 2025," said Glod.

"The buzz around the 725 fairways on tour has been the biggest I have experienced in quite some time, and there is more tech than ever featured in these new designs. Golfers will need to get these on their must-hit list."

For the first time ever, the 725 Series was introduced to the PGA Tour as prototypes to help the design team get as much feedback as possible for the final 725 designs.

The prototypes were introduced to the PGA Tour Champions in early 2024 and took off with extremely fast player adoption, becoming our most played fairway metals and hybrids on the 2024 Tour, accounting for over 50% of Tour Edge metals in play on the tour.

Tour Edge Exotics 725 Irons

Tour Edge Irons

Tour Edge's new Exotics 725 Irons include their highest ever MOI iron in the brand-new Super Game Improvement X725 design.

The performance and design goals of the Exotics 725 Irons were to perfectly represent the spectrum of different iron categories that exist.

In the C725 Iron Player’s Distance category, a 10% smaller clubhead with a shorter blade length and a significantly thinner topline and sole has made the C725 a more player-preferred design, while still providing the extreme distance and forgiveness every player will benefit from.

With the Game Improvement E725 Iron, the low-rearward CG position is 10% lower in this design than previous models, producing an extremely high MOI and deeper CG position.

The X725 uses design elements inspired by Tour Edge’s patented iron-wood technology, which includes a shallow face, heavy offset and draw enhancing tech to create the first-ever Exotics Super Game Improvement iron.

"Our design team has used a tremendous amount of player feedback to get these three irons exactly where they need to be to be a leader in their respective categories," said David Glod. "With C, it’s gone even further into the player-preferred design. The E iron has become even more forgiving and easy to hit, and this is the same design that was just named the #1 G.I. iron of 2024 by MyGolfSpy. To improve upon that kind of performance just means we have raised the bar even more on a proven winner."

"The X iron is a new concept for us," said Glod. "The thinking being, why not take our all-time best-selling iron-wood concept and make an ultra-premium Exotics version. It turned out even better than we expected. It’s the highest MOI iron we’ve ever produced, and the easiest to hit Exotics iron ever made. It’s going to help a lot of golfers drastically lower scores."

All three new irons feature 3D Diamond Face advancements with three-dimensional diamond shapes behind the face for greater ball speeds, plus VIBRCOR speed-inducing and feel-enhancing internal technology.

The new clubs are available for pre-order at authorised Tour Edge golf shops around the world beginning October 15th and will be available in-store and for custom fitting starting November 1st.
