FootJoy Quantum & Pro SLX Golf Shoes Review

FootJoy is at the forefront of golf shoe technology and innovation, with their products ranking among the most acclaimed on the market. The FJ Quantum and Pro SLX are two headline releases for this year - but do they deliver the quality that you would expect?

Golfshake's Equipment Expert, Ryan Rastall has tested both shoes on the golf course, and he shares his feedback on the fit, comfort, traction, stability, performance and look of these models.

But let's first take a closer inspection at the two shoes and what you can expect.

FJ Quantum

The Quantum is FootJoy's softest, most comfortable shoe yet, which is a claim made possible by the introduction of SofFOAM technology that provides maximum cushioning for all-day walking comfort. They also feature soft-to-touch leather that adds to the exceptional feel of these shoes that offer fantastic underfoot traction both on and off the golf course.

FJ Pro/SLX

Extra Feedback on FJ Quantum

My first impression when unboxing the new FootFoy Quantum was how much I liked the design of the shoe and especially how comfortable the SofFOAM looked.

The shoes were put straight to the test with 27 holes on the first wear, followed by a further 36 holes the next day. The comfort levels straight out of the box matched my first thoughts during the unboxing, it felt like walking on clouds. For me, shoes are so important as I have recently struggled with and been prevented from play at times due to plantar fasciitis in both feet. With these, I had zero concerns and zero pains despite the intense use over these two days.

They are easy to clean (which is a big plus for me as with a white shoe, this is a must) and I love the versatility where you can put them on as you leave the house and drive to the range/course wearing them.

The shoes go great with both trousers or shorts and are therefore the ultimate all-round shoe in my opinion having been used in early morning dew, rain showers and in lovely almost-summer weather and they performed wonderfully.

Pros:

Cons:

• Can be on the pricier side.

Overall, I am extremely impressed with the FootJoy Quantum. They are comfortable, stylish, versatile and provide great performance on the course. I would highly recommend them to anyone, especially those with foot issues like myself, looking for a top-quality golf shoe.
