Tiger Woods Launches New Clothing & Footwear Brand
When his legendary association with Nike concluded after 27 years, many were intrigued by what the next move for Tiger Woods would be. Now we have the answer - the 15-time major champion has partnered with TaylorMade to launch his own apparel and footwear brand, Sun Day Red.
"I have learned so much over the years and have a lifetime of experience adjusting my apparel and footwear to help me play better based on the way it was constructed," Woods said: "There are things that I could tell you that no one knew I was doing over the years. I'm ready to share those secrets with the world. Sun Day Red will embody a love of playing and competing, and we are for people that share those values, whether it's on the course, or in life. We will be anchored to putting the athlete first in the product decisions we make."
Woods has been using TaylorMade equipment since 2017, with this latest venture the natural extension of that relationship.
As you can guess, the (somewhat unusual) name of Sun Day Red is a reference to Woods' trademark look in the final round of golf tournaments, while the new logo - which is a drawing of a Tiger - has 15 stripes in a nod to his championship victories.
TaylorMade chief executive David Abeles said: "This brand stands alone. It is independent from TaylorMade and it is run by an independent group of leaders that are part of my team - I couldn't be more thrilled - so that we can focus on what matters on this brand most."
Following its unveiling event that was staged at Caruso’s Palisades Village in Los Angeles, Sun Day Red will become available to consumers in North America from 1st May, with the brand set to encompass a wide collection of garments and accessories, with expected expansion to include women's and children's products, in addition to footwear.
Woods will be showcasing the new line during this week's Genesis Invitational - where he serves as a playing tournament host at Riviera.
