The Golfshake Golf Course Awards

The Golfshake Course Section is home to an incredible 280,000 golf course reviews submitted by the Golfshake Community over the last 12 years, who rate courses based on their expectations and subsequent experience.
Through ratings in a range of categories, our Course Section forms an important resource for golfers looking where to play.
With over 20,000 reviews submitted in 2022, we have analysed the data and identified the 2022 Golfshake Award Winners to honour those clubs that enjoyed the most success across a range of categories from our review system.
As well as focusing on the UK, 2022 saw notable increases in reviews outside the UK with courses featured from Spain, Portugal, Thailand, Turkey, Dubai and the US. Additional plaudits must also be given to those courses featuring in multiple categories with Remedy Oak Golf Club appearing four times and JCB Golf & Country Club three times across the categories.
The data below features clubs with more than seven reviews submitted, with golf courses selected based on the overall number of reviews where multiple courses had the same rating for a particular category.
Most Reviewed in 2022
The 'Most Reviewed' category simply highlights those receiving the most reviews on Golfshake, all receiving high praise which clearly celebrates the great work these clubs do.
Highest Rated with 100% 'Highly Recommended' status
The following three venues all received a 100% Highly Recommended rating from the reviews submitted in 2022.
Overall 5* rating
These three standout venues topped the list for the overall review rating in 2022.
Course Layout 5* rating
Coming out on top for the course layout, you might not be surprised to see these three courses listed.

To ensure a first-class trip the overall facilities can be an important part, an area where these venues excelled.
VFM (value for money)
When it comes to value for money, the following four courses led the way, all receiving a perfect 5 out of 5. But just as impressive was all four currently having a 100% recommendation rating for reviews submitted on Golfshake, highlighting the overall quality of these courses.
Hospitality & Service
Whilst the golf course will often set the precedent for how golfers will rate a venue, the service and hospitality they receive will likely live long in the memories of any visitors and is often be an important factor when courses are recommended to others. The following three venues led the way for reviews in 2022 for courses listed with a green fee over £100.
The following three venues topped out the courses in the category, with a green fee under £50, with many of the reviews commending the hospitality and warm welcome received when visiting.

Unsurprisingly, two of the courses listed below were also featured in the top rated layout, further evident of how good the courses are given they also feature in the top rated for course conditioning.
Food & Drink
Golf is more than a game and so often visiting a golf course is more than simply playing golf. Alongside the hospitality an important factor is often the food you may have before or after a round. Well done to the following three courses leading the way in this category.
