Callaways Unveils Rogue Fairway Woods with Jailbreak Technology
Jailbreak Technology has become a headline maker for Callaway, and the revered brand has introduced this significantly publicised innovation – for the first time – in a fairway wood. The newly unveiled Rogue Fairway Woods are combining Jailbreak with Face Cup Technology to create the most powerful clubs of their kind that Callaway has produced.
Callaway Rogue Fairway Woods
The first fairway wood to feature Jailbreak Distance Technology, the Rogue Fairway additionally was installed with Face Cup Technology to bring together Callaway’s two most speed-enhancing innovations, leading to a range of clubs that easy to launch and boast a strong, straight ball flight.
“The challenge was to make these technologies work together,” said Dr. Alan Hocknell of Callaway. “That technological synergy is what makes Rogue Fairways an engineering marvel, and an absolute powerhouse.”
In addition to Jailbreak – which uses two stiffening bars that promote enhanced speed and distance – Callaway’s new Fairway Woods are forgiving and easier to launch, thanks to the ultra-thin Carpenter 455 that aligns with Jailbreak and Face Cup to help golfers achieve faster ball speeds and long distances on both centre-face hits and off-centre hits.
The Rogue Fairways also take advantage of Callaway’s Internal Standing Wave Technology, which was pioneered throughout their irons. When it comes to Rogue, the ISW has placed the CG – centre of gravity – low and forward to produce an optimum distance-increasing mix of high-launch and low-spin.
Taking advantage of Triaxial Carbon Composite material that is stronger than steel, the Rogue Fairway Wood saves weight from that and the fixed hosel, which increases MOI for enhanced forgiveness and lowers the CG dramatically.
In the past, Callaway has collaborated with Boeing to develop Speed Step Technology. Previously used in metalwoods, Rogue has utilised this same ingenuity, but it’s now been redefined to promote a faster head speed.
