The Epic Between Reed and McIlroy
It was one of the most anticipated matches in Ryder Cup history. The talismanic Rory McIlroy facing the inspired Patrick Reed, both of whom had led their teams from the front. Like much of the day, it lived up to all expectations, particularly on the back-nine, where both McIlroy and Reed produced stunning golf, not least on the eighth, where the Northern Irishman holed a putt from 55-feet to silence the crowd, before the American responded with a lengthy reply of his own.
Ryder Cups are made great from moments like this, with the two players than sportingly acknowledging the other with a fist-bump, smile and brief embrace. It just made the whole scene even more special.
