Dalmuir Municipal
Great course for being a municipal. Would highly recommend. Better value for money than some other expensive courses I have played. 13-18 are so challenging. Number 3 is an uphill dogleg which is fairly challenging that early in your round.Reviewer Rating

Great Day out
Date of play 22 August 2020.Course is in really good condition, especially considering the rain in the last few days.
Be prepared for a hike from 13 onwards, tough on the legs but good holes to play.
Greens were a bit slow but in good condition all the same.
Slightly annoying group of youths blaring music on the 3rd hole but that's not the courses fault.
Will be back.

Great challenging golf course
Best municipality course I have played. Still requires work (bunkers etc) but great layout. Booking is easy and the pro is helpful and frendily. At ?10 a round is fantastic value for money. Can't praise this course high enough definitely worth a visit.Reviewer Rating

Crazy Golf!
Played Dalmuir a few times over the years, after covid lockdown one of the few courses open to visitors so I've returned twice in the past week and it is enjoyable but a test of fitness as much as your golf.1st couple of holes short and possibly drivable par 4s although the second is like hitting a free kick over a wall to a blind green
3rd hole is definitely the toughest on front 9- classed as par 5 off white tees but really should be par 5 off yellows as well, it would take a very long and accurate drive to find the angle round the dog leg to attempt taking on green in 2 shots.
All relatively straight forward holes then up to the 11th which is a blind par 3 that probably needs a faded tee shot round some tall trees to hit the green.
12th is great fun, a wedge basically off the edge of a cliff, over a burn to a green surround by bunkers. Would happily spend an hour hitting shots there if I could.
13th however is a brutal haul uphill, long and straight and again really should be a par 5.
14th is another fun par 3 hitting it 200 yards across a gully, a good tee shot here is highly recommended to avoid dragging your clubs back up the other side of the gully. The 15th is another tough par 3 hitting it back up the gully to a green on the plateau at the top. Pretty daunting tee shot but is relatively straight forward as long as you dont come up short.
16th is a straight forward par 4 from an elevated tee to a wide fairway. A good drive from here looks great.
17th another tough slog before a difficult closing hole.
The 18th fairway runs severely downhill from left to right before and almost right angle turn to the left in a dog leg back up the hill. A tee shot that cuts the corner over the trees is probably the right shot but even with a good shot theres no guarantee you will ever see that ball again.

Back after Lockdown
Booked for a tee time by phone and paid on the day on my local course. A twosome, socially distant and new rules handed out today to all golfers. Good welcome from pro shop and teed off on time. Course was busy but running smooth with little waiting between holes. Conditions were dry and fairways were freshly cut. Greens were difficult after my long layoff. Played 16 holes and missed most showers and puts. I would highly recommend for a midweek round.Reviewer Rating
