What the club says: Bawtry Golf Club is an 18 hole parkland course. It measures nearly 7,000 yards off the white tees, which is ideally challenging for accomplished golfers. Off the yellow tees the course is more appropriate for the higher handicap golfer. It is perfectly situated and the design of the course has utilised the surrounding landscape to full effect. During your round, you will encounter some testing hazards and some very tricky fairways. Dedicated greenstaff keep the course in immaculate condition throughout the year.

Worth a day out
The course was dry for the time of year and the greens were good. Fairways were generous with not much heavy rough adjoining so we didn't lose time looking for balls. We played off permanent winter tees with their own scorecard so that meant our scores could count. The only disappointment was our difficulty in inserting tee pegs into the tee mats.Reviewer Rating

Great condition course and wide open
This is the best condition course I have played this year (2023) and is on full tees and greens. I did just happen to play it on a glorious April day but it still impressed with its lush grass and good greens. They still have staffing issues and make one or two people cover every part of delivery in the clubhouse/pro shop. But its about golf and that was great, so well done Bawtry it almost makes up for the over protection during the winter months. The course itself is wide open and its very hard to lose your ball even with wayward shots so it will appeal to many golfers. I would say one thing, the new hotel being built looks amazing and if its to be a success the course needs to be improved to make the whole package attractive as currently its a lovely course but probably not up the quality of the hotel.Reviewer Rating

Winter mats/winter course
The course was in good condition for the end of November, greens smooth and true. However the course is played from mats, the best mats according to the pro shop. Whilst the mats are indeed good quality it is nigh on impossible to put a tee peg in them. The majority of them are not lined up with the direction of the hole. Some of the holes have been reduced slightly in length due to winter conditions, however that means that 2 par 5s become incredibly long par 4\'s. The 12th remains a par 5 despite being virtually the same length as the 10th and 13th which are now par 4\'s. The 14th is now an incredibly long par 3. The stroke indexes do not seem to match the difficulty of the holes. Will go again, used to be a member but SORT IT OUTReviewer Rating

long time fan first time player
Played Bawtry yesterday 9.3.2022. Found it to be a great course. 1st time playing it and I have to say, loved it.As a player with mobility issues I wasn't looking forward to walking as I usually need a buggy these days, but the round was very enjoyable and not too arduous.

Great course, really enjoyed it. It was in very good condition for the time of the year so I imagine it will be exceptional in the summer. We'll certainly be finding out.Reviewer Rating

Disappointing 6
Not impressed with a course I haven't played for 20 years and won't be hurrying back. Possibly the recent wet weather probably hasn't helped but still not a course that I would wish to play anytime soon. There are clearly issues with tee times as ours was over 30 minutes late due to presumably poor management of allocated starting arrangements.Reviewer Rating

Nicely Kept Course, Bit Pricey
Always in lovely condition as the course is well protected in winter, there are also really good winter tees which help. The course itself has been tidied up over the last few years and its made it much better to play, but it costs ?30 a round and thats just too much compared to local options. Often hard to get a drink or food because of the lack of staff there during the day time. If they get the developments up and running which have been promised for a while now, it could be worth re-visiting. Until then, its a nice course, but needs to be more like ?20-25 to play.Reviewer Rating
