What the club says: Laid out over low-lying coastal terrain, this course, with its many water hazards and few trees, is considerably different from the other ones at the resort and many of its holes convey a links atmosphere.

U.S. golf architect Joseph Lee designed this course which was opened in 1990 and many previous visitors will recognise it as part of the former 27-hole Vilamoura III course. It has been subject to continual improvements over the years.

Of the local courses Laguna suffered the most from the recent heavy rains. It's obvious that some of the fairways had been underwater for some time. Particularly holes 14,15,16. Greens were OK as were the bunkers. Buggies were banned except medical excemptions. I feel the course should have been closed.

Always tricky with the water and the wind on the later more exposed holes, greens a little bobbly but settled down in the later holes

Course is in good condition generally ( still improving after the issues of the last year or so) - the greens are hard and don't look great but they roll better than you might think - they are not particularly receptive (but that might just be me!!)

Generally the course is pretty good but the greens are in terrible shape. The course was refurbished in 2022 and the greens have yet to recover - apparently the grass hibernates and is yet to emerge from its slumbers

Great course

Laguna is a course we play year on year for the last 16 years, a good test of golf and has great practice facilities, the back 9 is really challenging especially if the wind is up

This is by no means the best course in Vilamoura but is great value for money as it is one of the cheaper ones. Great condition and tricky in areas. All course in Vilamoura are in great condition this is no different.
