What the club says: The Golf Club moved to its present site in 1934 and was designed by the famous architect George Duncan. The course measures 6398 yards from the medal tees with a par of 71, it winds its way through tree lined fairways of silver birch, beech and Scots pines. Broom and gorse are prevalent on this flat, sand based course, practically giving us an 'all year round' facility

Excellent society visit
24 golfers travelled down from a wet and miserable Newcastle to play this wonderful course. I honestly thought the practice putting area was artificial from a distance, the greens were superb. Our group ranged from +4 handicap to 32 and they all enjoyed it. All the staff from the pro shop to the catering were brilliant and the fish and chips were delicious. And …. It didn’t rain. Thank you Wheatley GC we will return !Reviewer Rating

Twilight golf heaven
We arrived at 4.30pm, the pro shop guy was happy to see us and we paid the ?25 twilight fee and in the blazing afternoon sun we found a virtually empty, mint looking course ahead of us. The course was in superb condition, aprons looked great, cross hatched fairways and fantastic greens. The layout of green to tee is really well thought out here and means on an empty course two of us went around in 2.5hrs. The only other people we saw was on the 14th so we zoomed through the course. What you can guarantee at Wheatley GC is that it will be in great condition and well looked after during the golfing main season. At the ?25 twilight rate its much more inviting than the higher price in the day time when its much busier, plus with no tee time system you can be waiting in a queue to tee off for a while. But all that aside, WGC is a tidy, well manicured course which will please most golfers visiting. My favourite holes being 1,4,5,7,12,13,15,17 and 18 which are all holes to think about and the 10th being the one everyone struggles with. Visit and you will not be disappointed with the course and its playability and quality.Reviewer Rating

Lovely condition, a proper course
Since coming back from lockdown on 29 March 2021, this is the best condition course I've played on .. the fringes and green were superb and as always the rest of the course was in great condition. Definitely one of the better courses in the Doncaster area.Reviewer Rating

Nice Course, Nice Set Up
Always a nice course to visit, some challenging holes which are always kept in good condition. Lovely clubhouse and food, plus a good number of charity events are held here so lots of opportunity to play the course. Certainly worth a visit if you want a straight forward course with a good standard of facilities.Reviewer Rating
