What the club says: This par 70 parkland course measures some 6,184 yards and is a test for even the low handicap golfer, offering some outstanding holes. The 5th hole, the most difficult on the course, plays deceptively long and requires an accurate drive, followed by a testing downhill approach shot, to avoid the hazards that surround the green. The 8th is a deceptive dog leg right. Do you lay up or take on the corner rough? Peter Allis refers to the Par 3, 14th hole at Wentworth as being very difficult, well we think our uphill par 3, 15th hole to be even more challenging.

To play the course takes imagination and skill and a great deal of effort to concentrate on the golf and ignore the magnificent views offered by the course.

Mr Brookes

Great little 11 holer, with the last 7 holes using different tees, very hilly but with some really challenging holes, I am 68 years old and would play 18 holes there again, but only with a buggy. The greens run well with some sneaky little borrows that will fool you. Ball always seemed to above or below your feet due to undulating fairways, a real thinking golfers course and well worth the money. Small but neat and tidy club house, serving all the usual, decent food too.

Stunning views

Challenging course, lots of hills to cover and quite difficult without a buggy. The layout takes some getting used to.

Peak perfection!

Amazing golf to test every club in your bag. Magnificent views from hilltops. The clubhouse bar was closed at 3pm and you really could use a refreshment after playing this course but take nothing away from the high standards on the course.

Challenging

The course has fantastic views over Manchester, Stockport, Tameside and Marple. The course is challenging as it is quite hilly which is why there are good views. On the day we played the weather was OK up until the 14th when it poured down causing us to finish at that hole. Other than that it was an enjoyable round in a challenging course.

Played this course for the first time mid April and was pleasantly surprised how good t was. Although in the middle of an estate it provided a good day out. The only draw back was that one or two holes crossed over each other so you must be prepared for players in front.

Love playing Werneth Low Golf club. It's a genuine challenge for all handicaps. The greens were playing fast and true, keeping our play interesting to say the least. All round a great days play.

Fantastic course with superb greens. Not for faint hearted as it's a hilly course. Maybe hire a buggy if you're not too good on your pins. Wide fairways, which enables you to open your shoulders. Yet each hole has it's inherent difficulties. You play one through to eleven, and then repeat one to seven from different tee positions. Fabulous days golf and the members and professional couldn't have been more friendly. Will be playing again soon.

Unusual 12 green, 16 tee layout, no problems today as course didn't appear busy. Course in good condition, a little damp following overnight rain. Not surprisingly it being on top of the low it's undulating to say the least. Good value Wednesday as £11 a round.
