What the club says: At 6,216 yards this beautiful par 70 parkland course offers a challenging game of golf to all levels, and is probably one of the best examples of pay and play golf in the London area.

Played in August 2024
I tried to play the course in April 2024 - the course was so wet it should not have been open - I only played a few holes.\\I played again in August 2024 and the course was in good condition except\\The bunkers had no rakes and was like a kid\'s sand pit.\There was no indication of flag position which is an issue on a course which is hilly.\\I thought that the greens were good. Fairways were wide but if you were wayward there was some deep rough.\Par 3s were a sensible length\A map of the hole on the tee would have helped showing distances and bunkers etc.\You cant book online as a single player. I complained about this but wasnt given a response that made much sense and the guy wasnt willing to listen to my argumentReviewer Rating

Short played around a brook where most holes need consideration
Albeit short, most holes have interesting features that need to be considered. Largely played across a brook making most holes undulating. The fairway and tees were in good condition, however the greens less so with some damage and some bobbling. Hardly anyone playing that is a shame, but great value for money.Reviewer Rating

Worst course I've ever played
Don't waste your money playing here. There are no fairways to speak of. So every shot is played out of the rough. The course is waterlogged in places. Bunkers are just compacted sand. Greens are in a dreadful state. The course should be closed if they aren't going to invest some money to make it playable.Reviewer Rating

Hilly and challenging but in poor condition
This is a public course so the standards should be too high. Green fees are £27 at weekends. Parts of the course were in woeful condition due to all the rain we've been having. Marshy in places, the rough would basically stop the ball. I'm sure a lot of courses were like this at this time of year. In the summer it would be much better. The greens are mediocre. For a drink you'll have to leave the club and cross the road to go to the pub.Reviewer Rating

Poor state
Played 26 April. This course does have great potential BUT currently is in poor condition. There has been some cutting although cut grass is strewn over the fairways so that you often can’t find the ball. The rough is too long and again likely to lose the ball, bunkers compacted. Greens are very poor patchy and mostly moss. No consistent roll, worst state I’ve seen them in last few years by far. It’s not really playable, maybe practice? Shame to see it. Needs some investment. Did not see any ground staff during my visit.Very few people playing, self fulfilling failure.Reviewer Rating

Geoff
Played here today and came off after the fourth hole. Like other reviews, ankle high grass, greens in a shocking state and pathways worn. Unbelievable. There has been no maintenance at all over the winter and it is as if all the ground staff have been on holiday. I cannot understand how this course is open. It’s completely unplayable. I received a credit including buggy hire and as I am local, I will go back but honestly, can’t see how the course is going to be ready this season.Reviewer Rating

Worst "course" i've ever seen
This was without doubt the worst kept course I've ever seen or played. Ankle high grass in the fair way. Tired unkept greens. It looked like the groundsmen had the previous month off, and yet the staff still charged us £27 without any forewarning when booking online. It was only when the chap in the American Golf store, stated how he couldn't believe it was open. I want my money back. But the staff have only offered to rebook us in for another time. This is of course no use to me, as I'll never be going back!Reviewer Rating

Dereliction Supreme
Like losing every ball you hit, even when drilled down the middle of the fairway? Then look no further. Used to be good, but it's being run into the ground probably to be sold off for housing. £27 to slosh around in a mud pit? Yeah, absolutely had our pants pulled down on this one.Reviewer Rating

Lacking a bit of TLC
Trent Park has a good layout and has been in good condition in the past. This week it was better than the last time I played there - not as bad as some recent reviews. However, the greens need some work and the rough could do with cutting back. The bunkers were terrible - not having rakes is no excuse for players not to smooth their foot prints. However, at ?12 on a Monday for seniors, it's a good challenge.Reviewer Rating

Worst ever
I played this course to encourage my son in laws golf - it has done th opposite ! It is in a terrible state . Every aspect of an enjoyable round of golf has gone literally like any ball that lands in the 1st cut - long grass with dead cuttings left to rot . Greens were awful . I felt like a beginner as my scoring was terrible . Will never return even at £12 .Reviewer Rating
