What the club says: Southampton Golf Course offers a challenging 18 hole fully mature woodland course. For the experienced golfer the 18 hole requires distance and accuracy from the tee, good iron play and accomplished putting. The course is a fascinating mix of holes with an abundance of natural hazards, unseen greens and challenging water features.

Wet Misty and Mowed
First time on the course. Putting/chipping green great, pro shop friendly. Course in OK condition, although rain came in, and mist and that didn't help as the course was being mown while we were on it and 2-3 holes had lots of loose grass on the fairways. It's hilly, some blind tee shots and elevated green. Challenging but some very picturesque holes when the suns out.Reviewer Rating

Not a course for the winter
Unfortunately a lot of the fairways were waterlogged and there was a lot of mud on all the slightly drier ones. Tees were all on mats. Full greens which weren’t to bad. Never seen my golf trolley so muddy. Sorry but wait to play this course in the summertime.Reviewer Rating

Course looking well in Winter
After so much rain, there are parts of this course that suffer. However it looks as though the council have worked hard to keep the fairways grass length short and this has allowed for the course to be playable as long as you hit those fairways.Reviewer Rating

TLC needed
This has the potential to be a really good course, with some lovely holes. The greens and tees really need more attention. Some of the tees were in a very poor state and the greens, well. Strange how the holes nearest the clubhouse were the best of a rather poor bunch. Come on this could be really good!!Reviewer Rating

Soton Mun
Nice setting staff very welcoming and food very good.The course itself is very hilly with lots of blind shots and balls travelling left to Right and vice versa. Maybe a higher vantage point on some holes to see where the ball ends up.
They could with more light rough around the course and some extra signage to direct to next hole.
For a municipal course was in good condition.
