What the club says: This woodland championship course is set in 250 acres of charming countryside boasting some of the finest views of any course in the North of England. Feature holes the 8th, a superb par 3 with water on three sides and the tricky 18th, a sweeping dog-leg par 5, are set to test all aspects of your game. The course has hosted the Cheshire and Lancashire PGA Strokeplay Championship & NW Pro Tour 2013
A very friendly venue that fully welcomes pay and play, society, corporate and residential golfers.

The actual course was very good, in lovely condition. A bit more signage indicating the next tee would have been nice, especially as there was some long walks in-between some holes. Also, with there being so many dog legs, a map of each hole on the tee indicating distances would have been appreciated.Reviewer Rating

Lovely layout, great in good weather
Having made it over the Peak District in the pitch black for an 8am tee time, this course looked impressive from the clubhouse. The first six holes are open, tidy and straight forward. From 7 onwards strap yourself in as they test your length off the tee, your ability to hit straight and avoid water, trees, ditches and more. Great layout and having played it once now, I would play some holes completely differently now I have walked them all. By the way, its a tough walk, but worth it. The greens were very fluffy when we played, needed a cut but thats about the only thing I could say against it. I will definitely come again, but only if I know the weather will be good as I imagine in windy wet weather this course could ruin you. Good toastie in the clubhouse and I am looking forward to an overnighter whenever the weather allows as at ?139 DBB and two rounds its a steal.Reviewer Rating
