What the club says: Porthpean Golf Course creates a unique, challenging and demanding round for the golfer, with all their skills being asked for on the course.
The first 9 holes are set in a pleasant parkland environment with great views of Penrice Woods and distant views of rural Cornwall. The return holes offer fantastic panoramic views overlooking St. Austell Bay.

Lovely course
Really pleased that we chose to play golf at Porthpean Golf Club. A really enjoyable rounds with fantastic sea views on the back nine. Some of the latter holes are quite challenging but my wife who plays 40 thoroughly enjoyed her round. The staff at the club were very welcoming and gave us all the information we needed. Also a great place to have a drink afterwards with fantastic views over Saint Austell Bay. Definitely worth a visit.Reviewer Rating

Hidden gem
What a great course. It was our first time playing at Porth pean ad we will certainly be backI don't think you can get better views for the price of the round (£20) anywhere in the country.
Course was in very good condition although the greens were slower than I am used to.
The course is very hilly so be prepared for a hard walk.

A golf course of two halves
What a wonderful find. Staying in Fowey for two weeks accompanied by clubs meant we had to have a couple of rounds on a nearby course. Porthpean proved to be a good choice - in fact, we played it twice! First nine through woodland and second nine with amazing views of St Austell Bay. The welcoming was very good, the course was in very good condition and the bacon baps for lunch were most enjoyable.Played on 27 June: Score - 93 (Handicap - 24.3)

Despite the recent weather, the course was in excellent condition. Although being relatively short, the course is very challenging, need to avoid the trees!

Greens are a joy to putt on. Interesting front nine with strategic placement of drives a premium to get close to the pins.
Back nine has fantastic views over St Austell Bay. though a little shorter with four par threes it still tests your game.
Great value for money and a must if you are visiting St Austell.
