What the club says: Our exceptional Pitcheroak Golf Course is a municipal course now, established in 1913 around a design by James Braid, who designed British Open courses including at Carnoustie and Gleneagles. This service is now brought to you by Rubicon Leisure. The 109-year old course is a highly-maintained mature mix of parkland and heathland cut through oak woodland, that requires a reasonable degree of skill to score well. There are a number of doglegs and technical holes! Our renowned greens are often very quick, especially in the summer. This beautiful course set on the outskirts of Redditch town centre in picturesque undulating countryside offers nine-holes, 18-tee pay and play flexibility as well as fantastic value membership packages for unlimited play.

Hilly 9 Hole course
I've played here before and always enjoy the course with its mature trees that are still showing their autumn colours; some long par 3s and short par 4s; some greens are hidden and there are steep slopes on 3 holes; there?s a great clubhouse cafeteriaReviewer Rating

over 100 years old
Pitcheroak is a rare gem in as much as it is now a municipal 9 hole course, it was once an 18 hole private golf club. The building of the dual carriageway in Redditch saw the club move from Pitcheroak to its current home in Callow Hill.
What was left behind though, was a 9 hole course of a much better standard than you may expect from a stereotypical municipal.
One key difference is the benefit of an irrigation system. This means that the greens and approaches remain receptive and very playable year round.
Being over 100 years old and set amongst mature woodland, there are lots of trees and other natural hazards. Be ready for some challenging holes over some testing slopes and gradients!
Length is not a huge advantage, accuracy and a good short game tend to get the job done at Pitcheroak.
In the last 12 months, thanks to some fantastic work by the greenkeeper, the course has really progressed and is now in very good condition.
Redditch, or Red Dyche is known its clay based terrain, not ideal for golf courses, often leading uto very wet or very dry conditions. Pitcheroak though does not suffer from this, its turf is a pleasure to play from and more what you may expect from a traditional heathland, sandy based course.
The bar and catering facilities are superb and you're sure to receive a warm welcome from Paul and the team,

Great condition
Weather and work and perhaps a lack of play reflected in the course looking in the best condition I’ve yearly seen.(Round played: Jun 2020 - Score: 83 Handicap: )

A challenging little course.
We visited Pitcheroak in January on a misty morning and had to guess our way round this 9 hole course! We found a few steep hills and a very nice layout of par 3's and 4's. The mist cleared as we started the second nine and we appreciated how pleasant the setting was apart from a bit of traffic noise on one side of the course. As it was wet and wintery, we were off mats unfortunately but this did not detract from enjoying decent fairways and very good greens, some of which were devils to read! Well worth a visit.Reviewer Rating
