What the club says: Mountain Ash Golf Club, nestles on top of Cefnpennar mountain with breathtaking views to the north as far as the Brecon Beacons and stunning views of the surrounding Cynon Valley. The Course has changed little since its inception in 1908, and although not long, measuring 5726 yards off the blue tees, it provides a stern but enjoyable test of golf.

Fantastic course
What a great course, not as long as some but it more than makes up for this with its challenging layout and beautiful views. It's fantastically maintained and looks amazing although the walk from the 5th tee is a killer!I was lucky enough to play on a sunny day and the views from the course are breathtaking.

Fantastic Club.
Although it's a short course it can be very challenging. The club host Glamorgan County Events and team matches throughout the year and is in very good condition. Members are very friendly, clubhouse is usually busy, all of the staff are very welcoming as well as the members. A great club for all types of golfers. The club has a thriving junior section and have been awarded Wales Golf Junior Club of the year 2017. Catering is fantastic and the clubhouse caters for all types of events that have proved to be very successful.Reviewer Rating

THE 1ST HOLE, HAS A LINE OF HOUSES ALONG THE SIDE OF ITS PAR FIVE WHICH IS AN INCREASING OBSTACLE FOR MY SLICE, AND ON HOLE FIVE THEIR IS A SO CALLED HEART ATTACK HILL, WHICH SPEAKS FOR ITSELF, BUT APART FROM THIS IT IS A VERY BEAUTIFULL AND CHALLEGING COURSE.

I was visiting my friend who joined recently & offered me a game at his club. When we arrived we waited for the competition to go on by that we knew was playing that morning while we warmed up, the weather wasn't too promising but warm.
Standing on the 1st tee I'm looking at a slight dogleg, which goes uphill. Me being a flat course player was a little worried about length now. No need to worry off the tee just a climb to reach the green. Overall I like the course especially he 3rd hole that you go back down the hill that you just climbed (birdied that on so really liked it).
Hole 5 that one really hurt the calves as it is the hardest climb on the course not long as less than 300 yards off the yellows but still a long way up.
The fairways and greens were excellent and the greens nice and true. My only complaints about the round was how poorly I played the par threes and the showers that came occasionally during the round
The views you get from the high points on the course over the valleys are outstanding. The best shot of my round was my Tee shot on the daunting 18th just hoping to hit the fairway, which is a long way down.
I can't comment about the clubhouse facilities as we had my friends 4-year-old son with us so we headed straight home, as he was very wet & tired ,
I’ll play this course again when I am next around Cardiff just hope the rain stays away.
