What the club says: Moortown has always held a richly deserved reputation as one of the country's finest Championship Golf courses. Originally designed by Dr Alister MacKenzie, Moortown is set in 125 acres of dramatically contrasting mainly level woodland and moorland.
From the opening par 5 there are many fine holes to enjoy including the new 6th, rated the most difficult, and the famous Gibraltar par 3 10th with its sloping plateau green, the Club's signature hole.

Stern test of golf
A good, stern test of golf. You need to play well from the get go, as the 1st 4-5 holes can chew you up. Nice ryder cup touches in the clubhouse.Reviewer Rating

Must play!
Fantastic Alistair Mackenzie course, as you'd expect it to be. It's long, but relatively forgiving off the tee, it's the length and the second shot that poses the problems. Must play course.Reviewer Rating

Superb course
Played several times - always enjoyable, Great mix of holes and was in superb condition. Not the cheapest of midweek rounds (?105) but pop into the clubhouse & see the history of the place/Ryder cup etc . Great service / hospitality too.Reviewer Rating

Let Down!
Played in an open at Moortown and was so disappointed at the condition of the course, Greens so slow and don't run true at all, Fairway have bare patches all over them, not worth the £60Reviewer Rating

First Ryder cup venue
A really stunning course, set in a very quiet place considering it's almost bordered by houses. We played on a dry and mildly breezy day. The conditions were perfect underfoot. Standing on the elevated first tee, you get a sense of ?we're happy that you chose to visit us ? kind of feeling. Not one boring hole amongst the eighteen. Greens all brilliant. It would be great to try Moortown in the summer.
