What the club says: The golf course caters a 12-hole parkland golf course situated within 2 miles of Shrewsbury Town Centre.
It is a mature course, with greens and fairways in excellent condition, varying in length from 124 yards to 400 yards, testing players of all abilities.

Fairways and greens were in good condition for a municipal course , bunkers not so great but the tee boxes were in awful condition otherwise it would of been great value for money and a very good all round municipal golf course

Meole Brace - A hidden gem
Played 03/03/2024 and the weather for the last couple of months has been rain, rain and more rain, I tried to get on to other courses more local to me that were closed due to weather and flooding, however Meole Brace was open and allowed cart/trolley use. The fairways were soft and in some places a little boggy but overall it was very good. They were using winter tee mats but proper greens which was a surprise. The 4th tee was moved up to the halfway point in the fairway due to the River Severn flooding, but that was the only real sign of anything untoward. The greens played true and were in very good condition.A huge thank you must go to the green staff and maintenance people to get such excellent all round facilities.

Cheapest half day out I can find!
Me and a few mates have only been 3 times & we've got the bug, we let anyone past if they're waiting on us, it's great for the money and every single person we've met has been happy and non judgemental which as beginner's is great, last 3 times I've scored 99, 86, 77..future pro ????Reviewer Rating

I played here in only my second game in four years, due to injury and enjoyed my round. It's a short course and reasonably flat in most areas. The course could do with some TLC, mainly in bunkers, but we did come here after a particularly wet spell of weather. The clubhouse and bar have good facilities, with a indoor simulator for lessons.

An under appreciated gem.
I've played Meole many times for the last 20 something years, I've also played many other courses with various societies over the years, but I always enjoy coming back to Meole, A challenging 9 hole municipal course, with very good greens, the council I'm pleased to say have spent some money lately improving the bunkers, they now have a links feel to them, the fairways are narrow so be careful with the big stick, good facilities after your round with the use of the Bannatynes bar and restaurant. Friendly staff in the club shop with an excellent coaching pro.(Round played: Jul 2017 - Score: 95 Handicap: 23.9)

Decent course, went after 1pm when it is £9.50 per round for all making it very good value for money. Greens are a bit inconsistent.

Played this course yesterday on my own, because I\'ve only just started to play again after a lapse of thirty years. Enjoyed it, even though I was behind a three ball which included a 7 or 8 year old kid. They NEVER waved me through, so spent a lot of time waiting on the tee for them to move on. Having said that, it\'s a great course for anyone just starting out. Nice wide fairways, little rough, and pretty true greens. The 3 par threes at the end are quite fun if you just want to do the pitch and putt.
