What the club says: Between the Chelmer/Blackwater Navigation and the tidal reaches of the River Chelmer sits a triangle of low-lying ground, just 50 acres of peace and tranquility. Wildlife abounds, particularly birds, and there are views to charm the eye in all directions. Maldon Golf Club was founded in 1891 making it one of the oldest in Essex and the country. Our par 71 nine hole course is flat, with split tees, many mature trees, water hazards and true greens.

A little gem
Played a twilight round with a member. Course was in good condition with some interesting holes. It's a 9 holer played of different tees for the back 9 which subtly changes the challenge. Accessed via a long drive so keep going.Reviewer Rating

Fantastic course, unhelpful staff
It pains me to write this review, because Maldon is a wonderful little course and a credit to the green keeping staff. That said, it's almost impossible to contact the club if you fancy a round, and the staff are some of the most unhelpful (verging on rude) and inflexible people to have ever worked in a service industry. I have tried multiple times to book, only to have either had the call rejected after ringing for a long time, or to be told that they close early or the last tee time is set in stone, despite it being a wonderful sunny day with a nice evening game in the offing. I'm just glad I never joined the place.Reviewer Rating

Tough little course.
Maldon golf club is a pretty little course, laid out well and deceptively tight, a course you need to think about and plot your way around. This is a proper Golf club with a nice clubhouse which is reasonably priced and the food quite good. All in all this course is well worth a visit.(Round played: May 2019 - Score: 93 Handicap: 13.8)

Great course nice greens, it's a nine hole course with different tees well defined , play this and you will play again, the fairways were short of grass due to the very dry weather but every course suffered this yearReviewer Rating

Great 9 hole course
Although only 9 hole, the back nine tees give a completely different view of the hole, holes changing par on many of them.Reviewer Rating
