Tricky course for high handicappers.
I like this course. It's quite tricky for high handicappers but gives you a good game which tests your abilities when you play. The course is in reasonable condition, the tee boxes need some attention, however the greens are good. Great pro shop and club house with very good food. It shuts at 15.00 for food which means you can't eat after your round if you tee off later in the afternoon.Reviewer Rating

Tricky Course
Suffers from poor drainage but is a great course to play. Only one par 5 but lots of tricky holes where you need to be accurate off the tee. The tee boxes and bunkers are getting some much needed attention. I really enjoy this course and would recommend you play it.It has a very good driving range, putting area but no practice for chipping or bunker practice. good food and very friendly staff.

Then they have the cheek to put up the senior rate to ?18 for a round.
Why don't they wait until the course is actually playable before putting prices up.

Ever improving
Since bunkers were reconstructed last year The Rayleigh Club course is a great course to play. Big hitters will love front 9 with visitors n shorter hitters preferring most scenic back 9. Very rarely closed due to great drainage.Reviewer Rating

Work is needed on the course
I have a 36 hole battery which lasted 14 holes on this course as the wheels were just spining, the drainage was terbile and the next holes badly signed, as twice we played towards the wrong holeReviewer Rating

The restaurant / Bar
For non members / visitors
Is a bit annoying as the staff give priority to members so you could wait a while to get served

Where did the bunkers go?!
Ironic that first tee was off limits as it was being reinvigorated only to find that every bunker bar about three had been filled in on the course since I was last here. Greens okay, but spiked. Fairway grass not great and those drainage channels are a nightmare, as always. Worse still was the standard of the ground that used to be bunker was so poor. Slope rating must be reviewed, surely. Course was all but empty on a Wednesday pm roundReviewer Rating

Nice course
I went here with a few friends to play one afternoon. We played the east course and found it a nice scenic walk and fairly easy holes. Would definitely come back however there is a lot of litter there and it is quite a walk round. Would definitely recommend a buggy or at least a trolley.Reviewer Rating
