What the club says: The Lakes - The wonderful par 72 Championship Course was opened in 1997 and plays to 6,572 yards from the championship tees. Set within 180 acres of Northumberland countryside the course design is based around an 'American Style' ethos, with plenty of water to catch anyone not hitting straight from the tee. The famous Longhirst wildlife inhabit the many lakes that frame the fairways, so you can share surroundings with plenty of ducks, geese and swans whilst you search for the birdies! If you're looking for a little piece of Florida on this side of the pond look no further than Longhirst Hall Golf Club. This is a hidden gem!
The Dawson Course - offers a different challenge to The Lakes at Longhirst. Measuring 6,713 yards from the white tees, it is actually longer but the holes have been modelled to create wider fairways and large greens to contrast with the more demanding Lakes Course.
The addition of the state of the art driving range, a visit here is a must, particularly for visting parties and societies.
Both courses have hosted The PGA Europro tour, with the event returning to The Lakes course in July 2017.

Poor conditions
Bunkers not raked, fairways not cut, 10th hole not in use, extremely wet under foot, still playing from temp tee boxes which extremely poor.Reviewer Rating

Long time admirer
Played here loads as a member and non member, year on year the improvements are great. Courses speak for themselves, greens this summer just beautiful. Wildlife stunning and staff very friendly. Only thing i'd say is that clubhouse could do with a freshen up.Reviewer Rating

Heavily played but decent course
You can tell this course has heavy footfall. Many areas, especially tee boxes are void of grass. But in general the course is in good condition with excellent drainage. Good variety of holes with some thought needed. I believe the members aren't too happy about the number of visitors and the tee times they get to choose but as a 36 hole complex they seem to manage. Would play again no problems but not any sort of top regional course in my opinion. Relatively good value green fees and winter playability ensure the course stays busy but I've never known play to be any less than reasonable pace. 3'35 for our 3 ballReviewer Rating

Mr
Played both the Dawson and Lakes Course via booking with GolfNow, £18 each; great value for money. Both courses are exceptionally picturesque and the welcome from staff and members is spot on. Don’t let some of the wide fairways trick you into thinking this is going to be a sub-hcp round. A great test of golf where distance off the tee and accuracy are both rewarded in equal measures. Would highly recommend playing these courses.Reviewer Rating
