What the club says: Llanishen Golf Club is a course that can be located in north Cardiff. Established in 1905, Llanishen Golf Club in Cardiff is a parkland course situated on the hillside in north Cardiff with panoramic views of the city, the Bristol Channel and Somerset coast line.

The course can present a challenge to all handicap players. With a pleasant variety on left to right and right to left shaped holes combined with small target areas from tee to fairway and fairway to green, playing to your handicap will be an achievement in itself. Following an extensive 3 year drainage project, all 18 Greens have been drained and will provide a much drier golfing experience in wet conditions.

Enjoyable course

Greens in excellent condition. Not the longest course but you need to be straight. Will certainly go back and hopefully score a little better next time.

Superb condition

I played here in a member and guest 4 ball competition and it very busy so was a bit slow, but more time to enjoy the superb surroundings and condition of the course.

The course is tight with lots of trees, but the rough isn't too bad and so not lots of time looking for the ball. The greens are fast and tricky to read, but overall the course is challenging but fair.
Everyone was very friendly and although we didn't have food, it looked very good and it's well priced.

I'll definitely be going back and would recommend playing here especially during the week when it's a bit quieter.

Spectacular compact course

Course has amazing views and very undulating fairways. We went with parched fairways so were unlucky at times as the ball rolled speedily across fairways but with another round you would definitely get the hang of it as it certainly made you think. An example of this was the first where I drove off then I found my ball on the green in 1! Lovely finishing hole well worth a visit.

Superb course and very quiet midweek

Thoroughly enjoyed playing this course. It is not long but offers great variety and is pretty forgiving for beginners. I didn't lose a single ball, which I think is a first for me and hit plenty of fairways and greens. The greens were in great condition and the only improvement I'd suggest would be for 'next tee' signs to indicate where to go next, as it wasn't always clear. I only paid £15 for an afternoon tee off time, which was an absolute bargain. There are some great practice facilities, but I didn't have time to use them. I will definitely be back to hopefully play the course in dry conditions, next time I'm in the area. Course is highly recommended for all abilities.

A great course that has been kept in good condition despite the constant downpours that we have endured in recent weeks. Winter tees have been updated and the course team proactively manage designated pathways to avoid creating quagmires in the few wet spots that exist.

Wonderful views over the Capital city and a treat for all golfers who want to chase a few birdies as the course , while manicured beautifully is not long , but accuracy is at a premium . Slick greens and a warm welcome await. Plus the bonus of playing the shortest par five in possibly the world at under 400 yards is a novel change from the normal lengthening of courses in today's climate .
