What the club says: Lindrick is an excellent test for golfers of all standards - the greens are firm and fast, the course is open throughout the year and in winter playing conditions are particularly good. Temporary greens are rare and the fine fairways make preferred lies unnecessary other than in the wettest years. The golf course is unusual in that it finishes with par 3, rated by some as one of the best finishing holes in golf.

Lovely course, twilight a bargain
We played this course on the 60 quid twilight rate in July 2023. With the history involved we were a bit scared by the dress code blurb on the website but decided it needed to be played given its standing in the local golf community. On arrival you can tell this is a nicely kept and well run club, with a lovely golf shop, imposing clubhouse and an immaculate interior in the bar areas. We had to sit in a certain room as we had golf clothes on, but that was better then wearing a jacket, tie and shoes. The course is a lovely layout, well bunkered and some strategy is required. Beware that new bunkers have been added which currently do not appear on golfing apps. Conditions were perfect and we found the greens to be quite slow but well kept and true. I noticed some rough patches around bunkers and surrounds which for 60 quid I accepted by if I had paid 125 I would not expect to see that. The layout begs you to play the course again as once you see some of the blind shots and layouts you know you could do better next time. I did however feel the course was quite open and not too much of a challenge. Given I blobbed four holes I certainly would not blob having now played them, I could have been in the high 30 points off 8.6 handicap. Given all that and the very challenging par 3 which is SI15 to finish, I would go and play this course every day at 60 quid. We spoke at length to the pro afterwards who was really friendly and I suggested that more could be made of the twilight rates as the course was almost empty. We will go back and have already booked again for next week.Reviewer Rating

Superb course
Second visit to Lindrick - had forgotten what a good course this is. Was in pristine condition, greens were excellent (& fast) - a real mix of challenging holes. ?95 mid-week was well priced considering the Ryder Cup history of the course - and the 'olympic breakfast' before our round was top class and well priced - service and hospitality also excellent.Reviewer Rating

Great course
Lindrick is a lovely course and not too challenging on the day we played it. It is very well laid out and the fairways were not too narrow. The greens were excellent and consistent as were the bunkersReviewer Rating

Lost the fairway grass
We played recently as part of the £200/4 ball Sunday special. Having played the course twice before, I was looking forward to playing again. We were told that it was preferred lies on the fairway, which surprised us. However, it became obvious why! The fairways had obviously burnt out in the hot 2018 summer. We doubt that they will return this summer as there was no sign of seeding.
We would have expected prior warning and reported this to the club secretary. The response was along the lines that many clubs had lost the fairways and were fortunate to have paid £50 instead of the usual £80 green fee. My advice is ask before you play!

Millionaire's Golf!
Played Sunday 20/1 as a visitor at 12:00. Course was in good condition, greens excellent, quite a few bunkers were GUR (being prepared for the summer) - but overall very good. We had the entire course to ourselves all day!The course is quite rightly in the Top 10 of Yorkshire courses. A bit more forgiving than Alwoodley and less brutal bunkers than Ganton, but I would say more picturesque than Moor Town/Sand Moor. Highly recommended.Reviewer Rating

Course in 1st Class condition
Annual visit to play Lindrick using their 4 ball offer. The course is in exceptional condition given the recent weather and we are always made to feel welcome. New bunkering on the back 9 is well thought out and the upgrade to the Ryder Cup room just adds to the fantastic value the 4 ball price provides.(Round played: Apr 2018 - Score: 91 Handicap: 23.3)

A ?must play? course..
I?d heard about the course and although nearly 2 hours away I can't wait to play again. We played 4 days after heavy snow although you would never have guessed. Course in great condition. Lots of strategically placed bunkers but course rewarded good shots and penalised the bad. It was a privilege to drink in the Ryder cup room. Overall first class!Reviewer Rating

Played using the fourball offer that at £35/player at the end of April offers fantastic value. The overall course condition given the time of year and lack of rain was first class, the bunkering continues to improve and the consistency of sand made for a pleasant change from most courses these days. First time we have used the halfway house and the quality/value just what was needed. Some alterations being undertaken in the clubhouse but the welcome as always remains friendly and look forward to returning this time on 2018.
