Brutal
Sadly, Kilworth Springs has again totally lost the plot with the rough, this now seemingly a complaint after any warm and wet spring. My second visit this year and, whilst the course is in good shape tee to green, the fairways are now ludicrously narrow in places, the first cut about 2.5 to 3 inches deep, so long enough to lose balls in, and beyond that it’s invariably knee high and very, very thick. The greens are not as good as they could be, still appearing to have scarring from the last round of maintenance. As a consequence they are on the slow side and running far from true. And the bunkers remain very poor.
I really don’t know what they are trying to achieve here. There is no need for a set up to be this brutal for a course to be a test. Kilworth Springs is a test, just not a fair one.

Hidden Gem
After heavy rain over the last 7 weeks this course was in good condition only the back 9 with a few wet areas. Green a little slower but fair. Overall a must visit if you find your club closed at the momentReviewer Rating

Fantastic winter course
After very heavy rain this course is alway a pleasure to play. A quality open course fast greens long fairways. But open to the wind due to the fact the course is positioned on top of a hill. Always a good test.Reviewer Rating

kilworth springs
i always like playing at kilworth springs. its been about 18 months since i last played here and i found it in considerably poor condition. the bunkers in particular are very poor. the sand is more like builders sand, with stones a plenty. the edges of the bunkers are holed with rabbit diggings too. the rough is also rather vicious. my playing colleagues lost many balls in there, this place needs some tlc.Reviewer Rating

Stay on the fairway
Cracking course, enjoyed a society day here. Very easy to find, just off the M1. Course was in excellent condition, tee boxes, fairways and green running very true. But keep out of the rough, not sure if it was how they like it or a result of rainy and sunny weather of late, but it was brutal. A few lost balls to be sure, with a few found too. Never as good quality though are they!Reviewer Rating

Steadily improving
A new head greenkeeper is working wonders on this course which is vastly improved. The majority of fairways have been considerably narrowed and are well manicured. The first cut is wider and it gives way to a brutal second cut. There have been a number of complaints about it but, to be fair, if you stray that wide you really do deserve to be losing your ball. The layout means that Kilworth now looks like a proper test, but I can imagine pace of play when it’s busy will be slow. The greens are pretty good, if a little slow, but the bunkers are still poor. Mainly compacted and full of stones.
Overall, a really decent track which has come on in leaps and bounds in the last two years. Sort the bunkers out and it’ll be right up there with the best Leicestershire has to offer.

Beautiful golf course
A very pretty and open course set in lovely Avon valley of south Leicestershire. This is a course which allows for risk and reward out of bounds left on the 1st to ponds and other ob areas to avoid later on. A truly enjoyable place with a signature downhill par 3 at the 6th hole. Staff and members were friendly and the food I had was tasty and enjoyable. have played a few times and will visit again if they have me again lol.Reviewer Rating

Winter golf
We played here because I had a free round voucher, and it was expiring at the end of February, so we thought we?d get it in quickly. As per normal winter conditions, the practice putting area was out of action, but the driving range (with TrackMan) and was available to use, we were told that we were teeing off after a seniors teetimes, I was expecting it to be slow because there was at least four, four balls in front of us. But the pace of play was very good indeed, I think it has helped that the weather conditions over the last four or five days didn't include any rain, which meant that the fairways and greens had soaked up a lot of the moisture and wetness resulting in really good tee boxes, fairways and greens. I would say conditions wise, it would be hard beat to find anywhere in those conditions.Reviewer Rating
