What the club says: The Lakes Course (Five Lakes Resort). This course, designed by Neil Coles, is used annually for regional PGA events and was the venue for the Nick Faldo Challenge. The course provides a testing examination for the better player as well as an enjoyable round for all standards. Water features strongly in the overall design of the Lakes Course, coming in to play on ten of the holes.

The greenkeepers keep the fairways, very clean and striped. And the bunkers have "GOOD" sand which begs you to hit through it. Overall I would say this course is a good test, which is built around a number of lakes. Not a hilly course, but lots of twist and turns ahead of you.

Great Greens
Challenging for high handicappers to play to their handicaps. Greens are well maintained and great to hit into.Reviewer Rating

Great layout
Great layout, and good value as got a 30 perc discount. Course was very busy as it was a 12.30 tee time. Very slow pace of play in front. Course in great condition. But wouldnt, in my opinion, be worth paying ?40 a round as it should have been.Reviewer Rating

Glad the 'Links' has been dug up, de-comissioned, put out of its misery.
Pleased to hear that some money is now being spent on the Lakes course. Hopefully on the tees, fairawys, bunkers and greens. Otherwise it's fine. It will take some time to reverse many years of poor maintenace. I hope it will be successful because it is a good design and layout.
The pro shop there is great, fiendly and well-stocked. But nothing else for anyone wishing for any other club experience.

Good solid course
Some challenging holes and great layout. Fairways were generally good (with some serious damage from winter). The rough was good and has a lot of thicker stuff. As the name eludes, there is a fair amount of water but they could be incorporated a bit better on some of the pat 3s. The tee boxes were in great condition. The bunkers had some stones and the edges were not well kept. Greens were rock hard, considering this round was at the start of June I?d hate to play them towards the end of the summer.Shout out to Dave in the pro shop. He was lovely, welcoming and very easy to chat to.
Food in the golf section was terrible. I spoke with another table and they were disappointed with their food. My chicken wasn't fully cooked and the bar was empty to begin with so didn't want to raise anything.

First time since the Potters takeover
Booked as a threesome on Saturday morning. Looking forward to seeing the changes that Potters have made to Five Lakes. Much better Pro Shop very pleasant welcome talked to one or two ladies members who said the changes were for the better..First up the Tenth is now the first, very windy conditions and a lost ball on the first tee. Great...not
Anyway the course and greens were very good and as good as I remebered, challenging and scenic. Some very thick temporary tee boxes (where you cannot actually put a tee into? Anyways had a really enjoyable round with some old friends, my golf was not good but I enjoyed the Potters course and the new Bar and restuarant (panini and coffee was nice) . Would definiitely come again but maybe during the week.
