What the club says: Cottrell Resort is set in historic parkland with amazing views across the Vale of Glamorgan, Cottrell is a golfers haven benefiting from two exceptional championship courses, The Mackintosh and The Button Gwinnett. Both courses are maintained to a very high standard and offer a different challenge. The Mackintosh course is longer and more of a traditional parkland course whilst the Button Gwinnett is shorter but more challenging as you must avoid several water hazards, well placed bunkers and dog-leg bends.
The practice facilities include three state-of-the-art surround sport simulators, three outdoor putting greens, one indoor putting green, one chipping area and practice fairway. The golf service department is well stocked with golf accessories, clothing and refreshments for your game.
There is a large supply of pull trolleys & electric trolleys available to hire as well as golf buggies.

Don’t do it
Worst course I’ve played this year. I’ve played here before and can’t really understand what’s happened. No grass on tees, plenty of weeds / rabbit holes, no fairways, grass all one length no definition at all. So after enduring this for 4.5 hrs, went in to bar in the hope of an enjoyable drink to be bet my Mr Grumpy behind the bar. I know everybody has bad days but he definitely needs to take some happy pills, in fairness he was the same before we went out. The only plus point to the day was the Pie & Chips. If you have the option to play it, give it a miss.Reviewer Rating

Greens were in tidy shape for time of year, great not to have to use tee mats and as with most course at the moment a bit muddy in places but overall course in good Nick! As for the club and facilities all very good especially the food and welcoming staff!Reviewer Rating

Great course in great condition
Whilst a number of the local courses are struggling after drought conditions and then intermittent rain, Cottrell Park is in superb condition. Greens are immaculate, most tee boxes are green and short and fairways are nicely cut. Bunkers have plenty of sand and rough is mostly fair (i.e. theres a penalty for being in it but it's not impossible). The Mackintosh course is a fair challenge for all golfers and I really enjoy my rounds on it.Reviewer Rating
